This past weekend, GSA was proud to present an Outstanding Service Award to one of our incredible referees, Matt Heckel. ⚽👏

Matt has been a dedicated referee with GSA for many years. In addition to officiating matches within our association, he also works high school and college games and serves as a mentor and role model to many of our newer officials as they gain experience and confidence on the field.

Recently, during a Saturday full of soccer, a coach experienced a medical emergency on the sideline. Matt immediately rushed over to help and rendered aid until EMS arrived. His quick thinking, calm demeanor, and willingness to step in during a critical moment helped bring comfort and stability to a very tense situation.

Thanks in part to Matt’s actions and commitment to safety, the coach has made a full recovery and is already back on the sidelines with their team.

The entire Garland Soccer community is incredibly thankful for Matt and the example he sets both on and off the field. Along with the Outstanding Service plaque, Matt was presented with a gift card as a token of appreciation for his actions during this emergency and for everything he continues to give to GSA and the game of soccer.

Thank you, Matt, for your leadership, professionalism, and compassion. We are grateful to have you as part of the GSA family. 💙⚽

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS REGARDING REGISTRATION:

• This year north Texas has made a conversion to the age availability.
• We have provided a chart with the new age formats. Returning players will remain together, if registrations are completed before late deadline.
• The age division of the team will depend on the oldest player.

• We’re always looking for more driven minds to take control of the game! A growing profession in today’s world of fút!
• Online course and an in person clinic to receive your certifications!
