Congratulations to Ben Bergeron, who was recognized at our Dallas Lions Baseball Banquet and Awards Ceremony as both Offensive Player of the Year and the recipient of The Lions Award.

As a varsity player, Ben had an incredible offensive season, finishing with 40 hits, 9 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs, including a grand slam, a .402 batting average, and 26 stolen bases. He was also ranked No. 19 in the state of Texas among all freshmen for batting average on MaxPreps.

The Lions Award does not simply represent talent or statistics. It represents the heart of what we want Dallas Lions Baseball to be built on: culture, integrity, leadership, toughness, attitude, and consistency.

Ben consistently responded positively when challenged, stayed ready to compete, embraced difficult situations, encouraged his teammates, and refused to be limited by what others thought he could or could not do.

Congratulations, Ben. Well deserved.

Entitlement is one of the biggest killers of an athlete’s potential. There’s a certain type of athlete Ive gotten to the point where I honestly can’t help them… because it doesn’t matter how good the plan is, how many emails we send, how much film we update, how many calls we hop on, or how much guidance I give. None of it matters if their entitlement outweighs their work ethic. The results simply wont come. The reality is, we are SO privileged to even be able to play a sport. If you can walk, run, train, compete, and be part of an organized sport, you are already blessed beyond what a lot of people can even comprehend. I know that deeply because I’ve lived through injuries that almost took the game away from me multiple times. To this day, I thank God over and over again for the ability to move, train, and compete. Stop acting like the opportunity is owed to you. Its not. Be grateful. Work harder. Stay humble. That’s where growth happens. Comment RECRUIT if you want help getting recruited. 05/15/2026

Entitlement is one of the biggest killers of an athlete’s potential.

It doesn’t matter how much coaching, film, guidance, planning, or opportunity is given, none of it will produce results if the athlete believes they are owed success without doing the work.

The truth is, playing a sport is a privilege.

Opportunity is not owed.

Growth comes when an athlete stays humble, works hard, receives coaching, and refuses to act like the game owes them anything.

As one season closes and we look ahead to the next, we are grateful for every family walking with us.

Every player, every parent, every season, and every step matters.

We are thankful for the families who are aligned with the vision, support the process, and are helping build a culture rooted in faith, growth, commitment, and unity.

God is building something special here, and we trust Him with the teams He is bringing together.
