If Manchester United think spending €100 million on Antony, would solve their frontline issues than it's no surprise that Antony will face the same issues that Sancho had.

Antony is a touchline winger. He occupies the wide areas on that right side of the pitch and is a dribbly boy. He has an abundance of skills in his pocket and has showcased them in the Eredivisie but the Eredivisie isn't the best league to showcase good defending. Antony is allowed more freedom and space because the Eredivisie's intensity and coaching isn't at the level compared to the Premier League. But that's not the main reason as to why Antony won't work at Manchester United. The personnel around Antony is.

At Ajax, Antony had a well rounded RB in Mazraoui. A RB that understood when and where to be not only for himself but he also knew when and where Antony would be on that right side. Be it the half space or the wide areas, both of them developed an understanding between each other's games. Antony needs a consistent RB that understands his style and knows when to underlap or overlap. At United, we don't have that. Diogo Dalot is far too inconsistent at this stage to give Antony that sort of coverage and AWB is deemed a misfit for ETH's style. And it's not just the RB that will affect Antony's performances.

United this season, apart from the Liverpool game have failed to utilise Rashford and Sancho out on the wide areas. That's because the ball isn't being progressed out from the back, a crucial part of how ETH wants his team to play football. That stems from the GK. United also lack a midfield that can play those progressive passes. Casemiro isn't the answer and neither is Mctominay or Fred. Eriksen is the closest to it but it's not his best position either. United are still lacking a progressive midfielder and a consistent RB in order for Antony to produce the same performances he did at Ajax, at United. This is also why spending €100 million on Antony makes no sense when United themselves haven't even gotten the best out of Jadon Sancho for the exact same aforementioned reasons. We now have a DESTROYER of a cdm, the type of player we have all been crying out for, we have been starving for a proper cdm for like the last 5 years. Finally, the days of mcfred are over, Casemiro is capable enough to sit infront of the defenders by himself with two creative midfielders like bruno amd eriksen ahead of him. I would personally love to see a trio of Casemiro, Donny and bruno/eriksen, i think that this combination is perfectly balanced.
