When practicing our asanas, we are also practicing Svadhyaya, or studying ourselves by getting to know one's body and mind on the mat, which leads to a greater understanding of one's life and a deeper quest into oneself off the mat.

Tapas (discipline) is easiest to relate to our practice. It is the control of the body and mind during practice, but also the discipline to come to your practice and get on the mat.

When practicing asana, Santosha (contentment) can be incorporated by learning to be happy and content as you accept and respect who you are.
In practice on the mat, this can also be accepting where you are at on any given day with your practice and honoring that place.

When practicing yoga on the mat, Saucha (cleanliness) can have a few places. First when you step on the mat, be present, and keep your thoughts, words, and actions pure as you practice.
Another way that Saucha can be incorporated into your practice is cleaning your mat regularly.

When you are practicing your asanas on the mat, Aparigrapha (non-coveting) can be practiced by accepting where we are, and not comparing ourselves to others, or competing.
Coveting another's method of practice can lead to injuries by pushing yourself too far in competing.
