What a great weekend to wrap up our season together! We went 2-2 in pool play and beat a very talented TN Mojo - Onan team 5-4 in our first bracket game. We then played a #1 seed in the bracket and were up 4-3. Our pitcher #7 Elle Gibson was hit in her throwing arm and was taken out of the remainder of the game with what ended up being a broken arm. We had to finish the game with only 8 on defense for 2 innings. The girls held strong the 1st of those 2, but our opponent, Focus 12U, made the plays to win the game. We decided to play Saturday and Sunday without a sub and played our 9 players we had. The girls battled and fought to keep playing another game with one another and not have their season end. We could not be more proud of each girl and the growth they have shown since August. Now it is time for a well deserved break!

Tomorrow we head to Legacy Park in Newark to play in the Stingrays Summer Showcase. This is our last tournament of the season, and we are so proud of the growth our girls have made since August. Here's to hoping the rain holds off for one more weekend....

This weekend we went to Orrville and played in the 5 Alarm Classic against some great first and second year 12U teams. The tournament staff and umpires were all great and the fields were very well maintained. We did not play our best in pool play, making too many mental mistakes and every ball we hit seemed to go straight to someone.

Our first bracket game, we played our best softball when it mattered. We scored 7 runs in the top of the 1st inning including #88 Carolina Miller hitting her first career over the fence homerun! Our defense was lights out and we won 8-1. We lost our next bracket game to the eventual runner-up in the tournament but we were still proud of the grit and fight they showed after pool play when we challenged them to respond. Nest, the holiday weekend is off, and then we head to Stingrays Showcase for our last tournament of the season.

Friday we head to Orrville, OH to play in the annual 5 Alarm Classic! We had a very productive practice last week and look to clean up our defense and keep our bats hot. Bracket play starts Saturday evening and continues into Sunday.

We are hosting an open workout next Tuesday, 6/30 at Centerville High School for anyone interested in potentially trying out for our team next season. The workout will be from 530-830 at the varsity field (map below of where to park), and within 24 hours you will be notified if you are invited to a tryout. We hit and pitched so well over the weekend, but our defense and mental lapses cost us a couple of games we should have won. This is part of their journey, and we 100% support our athletes on their journey of developing skill and softball IQ. 2-4 on the weekend could have easily been 4-2 and playing another game on Sunday.

#23 Amirrah Bolden: .444, 8 hits (1 double)

#00 Ashlynn Naegel: .438, 7 hits (1 double and 1 triple)

PITCHERS:

#00 Ashlynn Naegel, #7 Elle Gibson, and #88 Carolina Miller in 6 games only allowed a .275 BA, had 24 SOs, and only had 20 ER.

Next up: Practice this week and then off to Orrville, OH for the 5 Alarm Classic.

Our bats were on fire yesterday! We out hit every team we played, but went 1-2 on the day. Walks, passed balls, and errors caught up to us in our 2 losses. We look to stay hit at the plate while cleaning up the other areas today as we continue pool play against 2 great teams.

Sadly, #14 Aria Jewell broke her thumb sliding into 2nd after she was 2-2 and balling at SS. She came back to support her teammates the rest of the day, and can always give us a thumbs up!
