Full Job Description
Michigan Academy of Gymnastics is looking for highly motivated, reliable and energetic individuals to work with children of all ages and abilities. Applicants can work at one of our three locations in Westland, Ann Arbor, & Dearborn Heights. Positions available to work as little as 3 hours per week up to 40 hours per week.

Instructor Candidates

Instructors are responsible for coaching boys and girl from the beginning level through advanced, determined by previous experience. Candidates should have a background in gymnastics, or other related sports, have experience working with children and have an understanding of the responsibility of such a position.

Assistant Program Director Candidates

Daily administrative hours with teaching hours required. Must have experience, creativity, and commitment. Competitive hourly wage based on experience, health benefits, and paid vacation. Must be able to work with other program directors. 30 hours per week minimum.

Job Description:

Coach/instruct gymnastics classes (Recreational, pre-school, and beginning competitive).
Candidates must be physically able to spot basic gymnastics skills, and willing to learn to spot more advanced skills.
Set up before class, and clean up after classes (putting equipment away), interact with parents before and after class.
Participate in student testing and complete "progress reports".
Candidate Requirements:

Willing to learn about our program and follow our established curriculum.
Put the student's overall health and well-being as a priority over skill development.
Good working knowledge of the teaching/educational process and positive coaching techniques.
Candidate must have a willingness to learn and be trained.
Lead by example.
Must have excellent communication skills and take pride in their work.
Must have a sound understanding of the level of commitment it takes to work with kids

✨KIDS NIGHT OUT IS BACK!!!✨

While the parents are away, the kids are at play!

At Kids Night Out (KNO), children will enjoy an evening of fun, safe activities while giving their parents a night of freedom! Children (ages 4-14) will love our games, climbing the rock wall, bouncing on the trampoline and MORE! The night will also include cheese pizza, juice box and dessert. We welcome both members and non-members to join in on the fun.

Pre-Registration is required, the fee is $25.00. Registration closes at 1:00 pm on the day of the event. NO WALK-INS.

• Lead by example
• MUST be open to learning and developing new skills
• Possess the ability to work in teams and feel comfortable in a collaborative environment
• Minimum of 3 years working with children
• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or other related degree preferred
Office/Reception
• Opening and closing our office (depending on schedule)
• Handling money transactions (cash/check/credit)
• Answering phone calls
• Taking and entering registrations for the session
• Helping customers with class scheduling or any concern that arises

Requirements:
• Must be able to work well with others (other program directors/instructors)
• Background in gymnastics, or other related sports
• Experience working with children and have an understanding of the responsibility of such a position
