Couple Cisco decoys hot off the rack.
Couple perch decoys recently finished. I never use reference photos, patterns,or other decoys. I like to make them one at a time, one of a kind. That way, each one has their own appeal.

Sen~or Snapper. 13 1/2" fully functional fish decoy. Hand carved white cedar, lead weighted, balanced, heavy gauge aluminum fins, solid line tie, hand painted, well sealed, great swimmer. Well built for use. Not sure what he is grinning about, but I'm sure some big pike or musky will see it as a challenge. This decoy is available for purchase. I have a number in mind but shoot me an offer. Thanks for looking at my hideous beauty.
A JJ r&w gettin er done
The auction for the MAGA decoy has ended. Thanks for all the generous bids. Sorry if anyone missed out. I tried to be as fair as possible. I posted updates and reminders. I'm in eastern standard time zone, so sorry if I didn't specify. It was open for public or private bidding. Wish I could accommodate everyone but I do my best. Keep following for more upcoming character decoys. I'm taking a break from the worker decoys and special requests for a minute. Thanks again all.

Introducing your darkhouse commander in chief, #45, the MAGA bass! This merman decoy is a true outsider. Some people fear the orange man, some people love him, and some people want to be him! This is not fake news. This is a fully functioning fish decoy. Hand carved cedar, lead weighted, heavy metal fins, solid line tie, well balanced and actually swims pretty good despite his pear shape and pockets full of gold. As you can see, he is a card carrying patriot, perfectly coiffed, looking dapper in his blue suit, all business, but not afraid to chase the big boys out of the swamp!. You may have to build a wall around him just to keep the radicals off him. He is un-impeachable, and the fish you draw in? are gonna be hyuuuuge! Buleeve me. I am going to auction this decoy off. It seems like the most fair way to do it. Starting now (Tuesday 1/4, 12:30 p.m. Until Friday 1/7, 6:00 p.m. Bidding on this page only (JJ decoys) starting at $100. Thanks for looking. God bless America!

Here is a little tip. To prevent yourself from rage and crushing disappointment, never mix brands of Clearcoat. Ace hardware enamel on top of rustoleum. Disgusting! Pay attention stupid!
Here is a simple but very important tip for the novice fish decoy carver. And a mistake I used to make a lot. I still have to watch for it. Make sure your block is square. Don't assume the block of wood you grab out of the wood box is square and straight. Center lines and layout are crucial for a good swimming decoy. If you carve a crooked piece of wood it will throw the whole balance off. It's the basic details that are most important. My mentor and master carver Maurice says the most important tool is a pencil.
My Entries for the GLFDCCA world championship in Monroe Mi. And the results. Sorry I didn't get individual pics before they were gone. 7 out of 11 placed in class.

Here is a deal of the day on one of my most popular decoys for the spear hunters. 8 3/4" cisco worker. White cedar carved, metal fins and tail pinned and or leaded in, weighted and balanced, great swimmer. $45 shipping included. I'm offering a discount on this baby because there is a few flecks of paint I don't like, and maybe a brush hair. I may be the only one that would notice, and certainly a big dumb fish won't care, but I need it out of my sight. Lol.
My thin blue liner
The "American striper" ( No not stripper. Different species altogether)
Couple more done this weekend. The 2 color combo I have never tried. but some serious spearfolk told me it's a killer combo. So this is my mustard n ketchup decoy.
Here are a few I recently finished. Cisco, blue blaster, and a pale horse sucker. Not for sale yet. I'll have more available in about a week.
Quite a line forming outside of the wardrobe department. I guess it's time to clean my brushes.
Longarm pike. I do believe this is the longest decoy I have ever done. 17 1/2". Great worker. NFS.
Took about a 5 week sabatical but managed to get a little production this week. All great swimmers. The ciscos are a proven favorite. Along with a spotted firechub. All available for purchase.
This Is about as "basic" as my imagination will allow. Lol
9 3/4" fully dressed whitefish decoy. Working decoy. A+ swimmer, A+ craftsmanship. Fully scaled, nice carved gill, mouth and tail details. Beautiful hand painted in my folk art style. Quite a classy decoy in my eyes. Tough enough to face down a gator, and pretty enough to be the belle of the ball. Lol.$100 will buy it.
Hot off the rack!
10 inch mud sucker I just finished. Available for sale. Great worker.
