to go far from home and helps develop the local talent in our community. We are looking for athletes between 10-14 years of age who enjoy the game and are willing to work hard over time. The love of this game can be lifelong and development isn’t done overnight. We aren’t chasing empty victories and trophies. We hope to have a consistent group of young ladies who we can work with across multiple years. Why – To provide a local travel softball option for girls who wish to play more softball and develop their skills. With the right environment a lifelong love of softball can be created if it’s developed and supported. We have loved ones and friends with children who we hope to see do as best possible and this is an opportunity for us to help make that happen. Who are we? – Parents, Uncles, and Coaches who have been around the game of softball with our loved ones and have experience coaching and guiding youth in a variety of sports. From coaching our own families our knowledge and love for the game of softball and to see the growth of youth has grown greatly. Whether it is Recreational, Travel, or School level activity we have experience. Most importantly we have experiences as coaches that we can draw upon to help lead and influence

Who do we want? – Girls from Defuniak Springs and the surrounding areas who have a real passion for the game. Regardless of current skill level we want to work with committed families and players who understand softball can be a lifelong activity and that development never ends. Most importantly families and players with good attitudes who will commit to a process to improve. Right now we are looking for girls age 10-14 of all skill levels. We may expand into other age groups depending on interest. At some point cuts may be made but we hope to have opportunities for 12u and 14u teams that have between 10-12 girls. Outside of tournaments and team play we hope to help any girls who want to improve we will have many open practices for girls who may not make a team or cannot commit to joining a team full time. At the end of the day we’re about local talent improving and getting the focus and dedication that they deserve. How ? – We will host several practices usually between 2-4 hours. Because it is not rec or school ball generally don’t meet as much but when we do we need to make them most of it which explains the long practice times. We hope that after a couple open practices or tryouts that we have enough athletes to develop a team. Once that team has shown commitment and attends a few practices we hope to participate in a few tournaments this summer. After a short summer schedule, we hope to establish our members and be full speed in the Fall with the same girls who have come out this summer. When? – Our first Tryout will be Sunday April 27th however depending on turnout and interest we will have several open practices until we find the girls who fit what we are looking for. Each Sunday usually from 3-6PM. What is our Goal? – We hope that these girls and these teams advance and develop for several years to come. We believe winning and victories are bi-products of working hard and smart on the correct skills. We will establish a mindset that good habits over time lead to on field accolades and hope that other parents and coaches join in to help us achieve that. In the end the goal is to help the girls develop into disciplined and dedicated softball players with the skills and talent to contribute at the school level. We aim to develop players capable of playing the game beyond high school.
