Is this the best budget EDC flashlight on the market for under $35? 🤔 The Fenix E12 V3.0 comes in at around $30, and its features are fantastic. Here are 5 reasons I carry this as my EDC:
1️⃣ Multidirectional clip (perfect for your hat or pocket)
2️⃣ Durable aerospace aluminum alloy body
3️⃣ IP68 waterproof and dustproof rating
4️⃣ Durable magnetized thumb button for hands-free work 🛠️
5️⃣ 3 versatile lumen modes (up to 100 hours of runtime at 5 lumens!)

The Budget Outdoorsman
My mission is to provide practical outdoor tips and gear reviews for the everyday explorer. So come along, and let’s explore together! One thing I’ve noticed?
I believe outdoor adventures should be accessible to everyone, regardless of budget. I’m Josh Wilson, and having grown up in the country, I've learned to love the outdoors - fishing, camping, and exploring. The outdoor industry is expensive. In this channel, I want to prove that the Budget Outdoorsman can still have great success, even if you don't have the most expensive gear. Hopefully, through
Ever heard of "Worm Grunting"? 🪱🪵
Most fishermen head straight to the gas station or bait shop to buy worms, but if you’re on a budget, you can actually bring them right out of the ground for $0 using this old method!
By rubbing a wooden stick against a notched stob, you send low-frequency vibrations into the dirt. This mimics a predator and tricks the worms into crawling right to the surface. It won't fill a massive bait bucket in five minutes, but it's an awesome, free hack to grab fresh worms without digging up your yard! 🎣
Have you ever tried worm grunting? Let me know in the comments if this works in your area or if you have any tips! 👇
🛠️ GEAR IN THIS VIDEO:
To whittle the notches on my stob and prep my rubbing stick, I used my trusty Swiss Army Knife. You can grab the one I typically use on Amazon here:

I miss the abundance of New York trout waters now that I’m in Ohio, but one truth remains: trout fishing can be for everyone. Whether it’s a pro fly fisherman or a kid in the countryside with a budget rod and some worms from under a log, either can succeed at it. Don't let the cost of "the right gear" keep you away. Just get out there and fish!
I carried the Fenix E12 V3, the Olight i3T 2, and the Streamlight Microstream USB, to see which one is best. The verdict? They are NOT created equal. One of these has a mushy button that frustrated me, another is an absolute tank, and another is an easy-to-use, light-carry option.
If you’re looking for a solid light for camping, fishing, hunting, or for all-around use (for under $35), check out my full breakdown here on lumens, battery life, ease of use, and durability.
Which one are you carrying? Fenix, Olight, or Streamlight? 👇

New video on the best budget EDC flashlight for under $35 coming out tomorrow morning on my page and YouTube channel! Stay tuned. 🙂🔦
There is no need to buy a new skillet! 🍳 I took this rusted Lodge cast iron and brought it back to life for around $10. It’s clean, sterilized, and ready for the campfire!
How I did it:
1️⃣ 50/50 Vinegar and water bath (eats the rust!)
2️⃣ Salt & Potato scrub (nature’s sandpaper)
3️⃣ Canola Oil at 450°F (the seasoning seal)

Real-world update on the Milwaukee M18 Fuel Chainsaw! 🪵🪚
I loved the power of this saw in my 4-saw review video, but after spending more time with it on the fallen tree in my yard, I noticed the stock bar is a bit flimsy for heavy cutting. It actually started cutting crooked on the larger rounds. 😒
Is it a dealbreaker? Probably not, but at this price, I think this is something you should know before you buy.
Check out the full review video on here: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1AwhL8JEDu/?mibextid=wwXIfr
I wish filming these reviews was all smooth takes and perfect cuts... but many times it’s more like this. 🙄
Between the janky intro, brain fog, and me tripping over the saw, it’s a wonder this video even got made in the time I had. 🤪

Anyone else have those days where your mouth and your feet just aren't functioning? 🙋♂️👇
Are battery-powered chainsaws actually ready for "real" work? 🌲🪚
I tested 4 of the most popular models on the market, ranging from the super affordable Black+Decker to the heavy-duty Milwaukee M18, to see how they perform, how they're built, and whether they're worth your hard-earned money!
In my latest video, I’m breaking down:
✅ Build Quality
✅ Cutting Power: How they handle real wood in the backyard.
✅ Value: Do you really need to pay "Pro" prices for your yard or the campsite?
Whether you're clearing a trail or just tidying up after a storm, here is the gear I put to the test:
