Don't forget... Two big Mean Green for Life Letterwinner events this Labor Day weekend!

Saturday, Mean Green Football watch party at Good S ide Pizza Pub in Deep Ellum. Join us for the 11 a.m. kickoff against defending national champion Indiana!

Sunday, Mean Green Volleyball alumni match in the Super Pit vs. nationally-ranked Florida. Social hour begins at 12 noon in the Honors Room on the floor level of the Super Pit and the match vs. the Gators will begin at 1 p.m.

Volleyball at the Super Pit!

The Mean Green for Life Letterwinners Association and UNT Volleyball are excited to host this year's alumni match on Sunday, September 6th vs. Florida. The match will take place at the Super Pit, and first serve is scheduled for 1PM.

All volleyball letterwinners are invited to the game, where you will be recognized in front of the home crowd. Active members of the Mean Green for Life Letterwinners Association will receive 2 complimentary tickets to the game, as well an invitation to a pregame reception, which will take place at 12PM. More details on pregame festivities to follow.

With just a few days left in our target deadline of Aug. 1, we wanted to send an update to our Mean Green for Life Letterwinners Association event fundraising campaign.

Our goal was to reach $10,000 by Aug. 1 and we are hopeful we will reach that this week. We have received over $8500 in donations thanks to five individuls who have each given four-figure gifts. We have also received pledges of a few more four-figure gifts that we expect to receive this week.

As a reminder, these funds will be used exclusively for Mean Green for Life Letterwinners Association events, programs and outreach. As we continue to try to host tailgates, reunions, social gatherings, etc. our budget has become increasingly strained. A $10,000 influx into our budget will allow us to continue business as usual and even increase the outreach effort.

Thank you to the nearly 20 former letterwinners who have already donated, we will recognize you all on the field at a football game this fall. If you haven't already given, please consider helping us reach our goal with a donation this week.

As you may have already seen , letterwinners annual membership dues increased slightly this fall, and a donation to this event campaign will also cover your increased membership dues for the 2026-27 year. We are also giving some incentives to those who donate at the following levels, starting at the $250 level.

UNT Athletics and the Mean Green for Life Letterwinners Association have announced 12 finalists for the 2026 UNT Athletics Hall of Fame.

Spanning four sports and three different decades, the 2026 finalists collectively lay claim to 45 individual All-American, All-Conference, and postseason awards, 11 team conference championships, and 14 NCAA Tournament or football postseason appearances.

The 12 finalists for the UNT Hall of Fame Class of 2026 are:

Alicia Hale – Swim & Dive (2006-10)

Javion Hamlet – Men's Basketball (2019-21)

John Lott – Football (1983-86)

Karla Pineda – Women's Soccer (2012-15)

Football Letterwinner Meet and Greet! Join us for a crawfish boil and an opportunity to fellowship with the new Mean Green football staff March 21st at the UNT Alumni Pavilion prior to spring football practice. Head Coach Neal Brown and his staff will join all former players for lunch and fellowship starting at 11 a.m. and everyone is invited to stay for football practice at 1 p.m. The UNT Alumni Pavilion is located on the hill just outside the northeast corner of DATCU Stadium.
