Wrapped up day 1/2 of a solid training session today. Whenever we do these, I always remind the class that readiness isn’t about fear, it’s about confidence. When people hear ‘threat response,’ they usually think of worst-case scenarios. But we train for it all- environmental hazards, ICE emergencies, complex social situations, and everyday safety. I’m raising funds for a short film I wrote about a father whose life is hanging on a small mistake in his immigration paperwork, and the crushing fear it creates for his U.S. born child.

Millions of U.S. born children live with at least one undocumented parent. Many have already experienced heartbreaking separation. As a father myself, I felt compelled to tell this story from the child’s perspective, the part nobody is really talking about.
