I work with all level of students including, but not limited to beginners, advanced, prenatal, children and older adults with chair yoga. My yoga practice began in 2007 near the Blue Ridge mountains in my hometown of Charlottesville, Virginia. Within a year or two I knew I wanted to teach and share with other students what positive benefits yoga can have on the mind and body. After graduating from VCU Business School, I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training. Our teachings were based on Vinyasa and Ashtanga practices while incorporating dance and natural body rhythms. My passion in yoga is to help students dive into the intuitive rhythm of their breath while moving their body in a mindful way. I enjoy teaching slow flow Vinyasa, power yoga, yin, breath work, and meditation. My first student after graduating from my YTT was 32 weeks pregnant. With her limited range of motion and mobility, I developed my skills as a gentle yoga instructor and practiced leading her through positive imagery meditations for her birth. My student reported that the final weeks and her birth were much more relaxing and easy than she had expected. In 2018 I moved to Colorado and have taught children’s yoga classes, senior chair yoga and strength classes, and have led many different virtual Vinyasa yoga classes throughout the pandemic. As we enter Summer 2021, post-pandemic life, I want to encourage all students to enjoy nature's beauty, breathing in the fresh air, moving with the natural rhythm of our breath as the sun goes down.
