Good day down at Colorado Scottish Festival today. Didn’t throw quite as good as at Elizabeth Celtic Festival - ECF a few weeks ago. Couldn’t get the M4 over today. Heat and a small field meant way less recovery time between throws and that started to tell later in the day. Still, hammers, stones and sheaf were all working really well today, and it was a very fun crew to throw with.

Warm one today but still got a solid couple hours of throwing in. New standards mostly dialed in, still have a few tweaks to make but they’ll be ready to go soon. No practice next week, as we’ll be at Colorado Celtic Festival down in Sedalia.

Practice tomorrow at Dartmouth Elementary, 9-11ish. Looking to be another hot one so we’ll beat the heat for as long as we can.

Helluva day down at one of my favorite festivals. Elizabeth Celtic Festival - ECF is always a good time, and pulls some strong athletes. Threw my best numbers for the season so far, and that was good enough to get me 4th, which I’m happy with. We had some big ol’ hosses on the field today and they threw high and far. Numbers were season PRs but that’s still the high side of mediocre compared to this time last year, save for caber. Today was a damn good caber day. The M4 (18’4”/81lb) has been my boogeyman for two seasons running. Today though, after almost 2 years of not getting a single turn on that stick, I slammed over a 10:00 and then an 11:30. Very happy with that.

No practice this week, we’ll be throwing at the Elizabeth Celtic Festival. Next practice will be July 22.
