It's always been hard for me to take positions on things like this one social media.

Why?

Because it's not podcasting vs social media.

I'm not going to tell you that Reels don't so anything for you.

I'm not going to say that you're wasting time with Instagram.

The truth is, I believe you need a well-rounded marketing approach (and if anything, I'm more of a content maximalist).

But I DO say, that you're vulnerable if you're building an audience and a brand on someone else's land.

Every trabel business owner should have:
• A website
• Long-form content (blog, podcast, YouTube)
• An email list
• At least one social media platform

But if you only have time for one, or if you're trying to figure out what to start with, I say you should start a podcast.

And ideally, a video podcast!

Why?

Many reasons - and I'm breaking them all down in an upcoming episode of the Travel Pro Audio Show.

I've been doing a LOT of research.

Observing, planning, reading, and helping so many of you with your own marketing behind the scenes.

Something I hear SO often, is how stressed all of you feel with the content creation hamster wheel.

I FEEL you.

I enjoy marketing, and I enjoy creating content - and I still haven't showed up on this account because, honestly? I'm tired lol

And once you start helping someone with something, you tend to do less of it yourself.

For example, I have a ton of travel agents in my audience - do ya'll plan your own trips heavily? Lmk in the comments.

I want to give you some relief, though when it comes to your marketing:

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME.

I know it feels like we do.

But you want to be strategic.

How do you WANT for people to discover you?

What do you WANT to be known for?

And if you're going between which medium you should show up on (take a look at the infographic on the post), really consider starting a podcast.

There are soooo few travel podcasts out there, and this really is a fab opportunity for travel pros.
