Kinjo Aikido Dojo

We are very excited to announce a spring seminar at Denver Aikikai from May 1-3, 2026 and hope you can join us!
The event is titled “Unusual Suspects” and will bring together three rokudan Senseis with decades of experience as dojo-cho, who all share a passion for clear principle-based teaching and training and a desire to share these with their students and beyond.

David Ito Sensei – 6th dan – Aikido Center of Los Angeles
Andrew Blevins Sensei – 6th dan – Kiryu Aikido
Edgar Johansson Sensei – 6th dan – Denver Aikikai

Students will go away from this weekend not only with new techniques and wonderful memories, but also with clearly demonstrated foundational ideas to advance your aikido training and teaching.

We had a great Kagami Biraki 2026 this Saturday, 1/17 with a whole crew from Traditional Aikido of Colorado Springs. Great training, one 4th kyu test, and demos!

Thank you to everyone that came out for our Iwama weapons workshop!

We will be joined by Kiryu Aikido and Traditional Aikido of Colorado Springs this Saturday 12/7 from 2-4pm for a weapons workshop. Come on out to the dojo and get your Iwama weapons on!

Full class tonight, the whole dojo came out!

Fun times with Denver Aikikai at the Michael Friedl Sensei seminar this Saturday. Kinjo Dojo is back on the mat tonight for regular class: 5-6pm open-hand, 6-7pm weapons.

Last/only day of this class block we're working on kata-dori and 31 kumijo. Next block (Friday-Monday): Ushiro and ken-tai-jo.

First Kinjo Dojo training at the new Lipan st. space!

Great turnout for Denver Aikikai's first practice in the new Lipan st. dojo! We will be having our first Kinjo Dojo keiko TOMORROW (Friday, 11/1) at 5pm. This is also our 11th anniversary as a dojo so come on out and celebrate!

Thank you Traditional Aikido of Colorado Springs for hosting a fantastic seminar with Patricia Hendricks Shihan this weekend! Kinjo dojo was 100% in attendance!
