Mom and I officially created 100 small paintings in 100 days!! I’m sooooooo proud of her!!!
I’ll be sharing soon about what I learned through this process! Now to get back to creating my large paintings!!

Small Works Saturday
“Storm Over Tempestuous Waters” 10”x8”x1.5”
This original acrylic painting is part of my Beautiful Storm series. If you’ve been around for a while, you know that I typically paint very large. This may be the first seascape I have ever done on 10”x 8” canvas! I think it is gorgeous and so beautifully dramatic I would not have thought such a small canvas could pack such a punch!! I’ve always found it incredibly hard to paint small but this was a lovely experience. If you’ve ever watched a storm over the sea, especially one with lots of lightning then you know it’s quite an electrifying experience! Even if you’re watching from far away, you can almost feel the lightning go through your body!

I’ve been so busy in the garden. I’m behind in posting our paintings. We only have three days left and then we have completed the hundred day challenge!!!!! So proud of Mom!!!!!❤️❤️❤️

Moody skies. Turbulent water. The quiet electricity that arrives just before the storm fully breaks.

Edge of the Storm explores the meeting place between chaos and calm — where crashing surf, shifting light, and atmospheric movement become a kind of visual language.

This large contemporary seascape was created through layered pours, movement, and intuitive mark-making to capture the feeling of standing at the shoreline beneath a storm-filled sky.

I can hardly believe we are nearing the end of the hundred day project!!! I’m so proud of my mom and now she has hung in there even as she’s been recovering from hip surgery. I pulled out some photos from a trip to Florida last year to Lake Ella and painted a few of the fun little ducks in my journal.
