Once again we find ourselves mourning the loss of innocent people who were cut down due to an act of violence that has both political implications as well as personal ramifications. Such events can have deep and long-lasting effects on our individual and cultural psyches and need to be named and effectively addressed. Noeticus, as a counseling center and training institute that specializes in understanding and transforming trauma, is deeply committed to working with both the effects of this type of tragedy as well as the causes that create it in the first place. Please join us in Standing with Orlando and all other types of violence against people.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy: Facilitator Training for Mental Health Professionals - 0416 03/24/2016

The publishing of Marsha Linehan's second edition of the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Training Manual introduced a wide variety of new skills and concepts applicable to a broad group of people in a diverse range of delivery formats. The foundational skills are still the same - Core Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation, and Distress Tolerance - but there are a lot of great additions - like Dialectical Abstinence, Middle Path Skills, and Values Clarification. DBT skills can be taught directly in skills training sessions, but they can also be applied indirectly in all kinds of contexts - such as in individual, couple, and family therapy. If you've been thinking about taking our ever-popular DBT Facilitator Training with Ryan Kennedy, now’s the time to learn this amazing set of skills. Our next class is April 4 and 5 in Denver and the 15 hours of training can be applied to DBT Certification as well as NAADAC and NBCC approved continuing education. Don't wait; this class tends to fill up fast! Register or get more info here: https://dbt-for-mhp-0416.eventbrite.com
