JKD Colorado
JKD Colorado is the place to learn authentic Jeet Kune Do in Colorado. Authentic instruction for Jeet Kune do in Denver. There's always something to learn.
Following the lineage of Ted Wong (Bruce Lee's last private student) we teach a unique and functional way of striking applicable for self defense, in the ring or simply for your personal self actualization. Jeet Kune Do as taught by Ted Wong and Bruce Lee follows science and efficiency to create power and speed. It's a system based on reality rather than movie stunts or studio theory. An evening w
When you stop muscling every punch, the speed shows up. Working the mitts tonight with one goal: relax, breathe, and let the hands go.
No tension. No forcing. Just clean mechanics, sharp rhythm changes, and staying loose enough to explode when it’s time.
Speed isn’t a gift, it’s a habit built rep by rep.
When someone switches to an opposite lead, the mechanics don’t change, the solutions do.
I’m looking at line of entry, strong side vs. open side, and how their stance shift exposes new lanes for the lead hand. From there it’s simple: adjust the angle, control the rhythm, and fire on the openings their transition creates.
Opposing leads aren’t confusion. They’re information. And if you train your structure, timing, and footwork honestly, you always know what to do.

Defense isn’t just about avoiding the hit, it’s about setting up the return.
Pro tip: When covering with the elbow for those low shots, keep it tight! Avoid the urge to reach for the strike. Staying compact keeps your balance centered and allows you to explode into your counter with maximum power and timing.
Train hard, stay sharp.
Are you working on your defensive game this week? Let us know in the comments!
Working off the opponent’s jab and firing back with whatever the moment gives you.
Hands, kicks, entries, angles — nothing preset.
Just reading the line, breaking rhythm, and letting the counters flow.
Drill it until the response feels like it’s happening on its own.

“A chain is only as strong as the weakest punch.” - Mike Gittleson
Everyone loves flowing combos… but the truth is, a combo only works if every link holds its shape. One sloppy punch, one lazy pivot, one hand dropping on the return and the whole chain falls apart.
Slow down. Strip it back. Train each punch until the structure, balance, and intention are undeniable. Then link them together and let the flow come naturally.
Clean technique first. Speed and fluidity second. That’s how you build a chain that doesn’t break under pressure.

A successful seminar in Motril! Things are happening! Don't miss the next one!
Seminario de Jeet Kune Do impartido en el día de ayer. Seis horas de duración con una entrega total por parte de los asistentes. Dar las gracias a todos los presentes. JKD Colorado Jeet Kune Do Motril-Spain.
You don’t get fluid by doing it once. You get fluid by doing it when you’re tired, bored, annoyed, and ready to move on. That’s where the real work lives.
A 1‑2‑1‑1‑2 isn’t glamorous. It’s not flashy. But when you force yourself to rep it out—over and over—it sharpens your timing, your rhythm, and your discipline.
You don’t train the combo you like. You train the combo you need. That’s how you level up.
