This weekโs Fight of the Week is a 5 round bout between Samkor Kiatmontep & Suphachai Saenpong (Saenchai). Highlighting the backbone of Muay Thai offense, the middle kick.
Samkor Kiatmontep and Saenchai met at Lumpinee Stadium in August 2000. Two of Thailandโs best, both committed to the kick as their primary tool. Samkor hunts with his left kick, building pressure one shot at a time. Saenchai answers with kick volleys, using combination kicking to disrupt Samkorโs rhythm and take back control of the fight.
A kick war between two Lumpinee champions. Watch how both fighters use the roundhouse to impose their will on the fight.

This weekโs fight of the week is a 5 round bout between Jonathan Haggerty and Rodtang Jitmuangnon.
Haggerty controls the range early, disrupting Rodtang with teeps, punches, and round kicks off feints to clearly take the first two rounds. But near the end of round one, Rodtang starts solving the puzzle. He stays just outside teep range, uses subtle footwork feints to draw the kick, then slides off the center line with a hard lead hook. Moments later, he catches another teep and fires back with a hook and overhand that narrowly miss.
Haggerty has more success in the second, but Rodtang makes an important adjustment before the bell by catching a teep and ripping a hook to the body. From there, the momentum shifts. Rodtang either pressures forward to smother the teep or patiently draws it out and counters to the body. He drops Haggerty with a liver shot in the third and closes out a competitive unanimous decision win.
Thank you to Coach for an amazing breakdown on this one. Full fight is linked in stories!
This weeks fight of the week is a short bout between Samart & Panomtoanlek. Arjan Prahmod lays it out plainly: punches lose to kicks, kicks lose to knees, knees lose to elbows, EVERYTHING loses to the push kick.
Samart Payakaroon understood this better than anyone. Against Panomtoanlek Hapalang, a strong, aggressive inside fighter. Samart didnโt need to solve every weapon in his opponentโs arsenal. He just kept answering with the teep. Not as a reset. Not as a defensive reflex. As the fight itself.
Panomtoanlek came to close distance and work. Samart used the teep to make sure that never happened. Control the range, control the fight.
Watch how Samart uses the teep offensively not waiting to be pressured, but imposing his distance on his opponent from the first moment. Full fight is linked in stories! ๐บ๐
This weekโs fight study highlights clinch denial and control of distance. In this matchup between Samart Payakaroon and Dieselnoi Chor Thanasukarn, Samart shows how to deal with one of the most dominant clinch fighters in history.
He uses footwork, framing, and timing to prevent Dieselnoi from settling into his strongest range, consistently disrupting entries and staying just outside the clinch.
Even though Dieselnoi ultimately wins the fight through persistence and pressure, this is still a great example of how effective clinch denial can slow down and challenge a clinch-heavy opponent.
It shows that good defense isnโt just reacting. Itโs controlling distance and denying positions before they happen.
