Positive Athlete and Denver Health congratulate Olivia Moss of DSST: Cedar High School, winner of the Denver Health For Life’s Journey Scholarship.

The Denver Health For Life’s Journey scholarship is given to male and female Positive Athlete from Denver committed to pursuing a career as a health professional.

Olivia was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age ten. She could have kept it private. Instead, she built a Type 1 diabetes awareness documentary, presented at medical conferences, and sustained years of advocacy through the Children’s Diabetes Foundation, work that traces all the way back to middle school. What began as her own diagnosis became a public mission to help others understand theirs. She is one of the first students in Cedar’s history to complete Calculus BC and a multi-year captain in two sports, carrying the same focus into the classroom, onto the field, and behind the cause she has championed since she was a kid. A student, an athlete, and an advocate who turned something personal into something far bigger than herself.

The Denver Health For Life’s Journey Scholarship could not have found a more fitting home. Congratulations Olivia!

Positive Athlete and Denver Health congratulate Ke’Von Taylor of George Washington High School, winner of the Denver Heath For Life’s Journey Scholarship.

The Denver Health For Life’s Journey scholarship is given to male and female Positive Athlete from Denver committed to pursuing a career as a health professional.

Ke’von was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia as a child. He underwent years of treatment — weekly chemotherapy, up to twelve medications at a time. When doctors finally cleared him to return to school, he wasn’t behind. He was ahead. That determination has never left him. Ke’Von went on to earn his Certified Nursing Assistant license in the summer of 2025 and is already using it, volunteering to care for the elderly. The same hands that once received care are now giving it. He carried a 4.7 weighted GPA, made the honor roll every semester, and was ranked among Colorado’s top basketball players. His coach and his teachers describe the same person: calm, humble, quietly determined, and always lifting others up.

The Denver Health For Life’s Journey Scholarship could not have found a more fitting home. Congratulations Ke’Von!
