We exist to create a safe, collaborative learning environment for black homeschooling families to explore and embrace our heritage and identity.

School systems across America struggle to provide sufficient education for our Black children. African American children are disproportionately more likely to be suspended or expelled from school, held back a grade or passed onto the next grade without having achieved previous academic goals. Increasingly, Black families are having to fight for their children’s right to be properly/fairly educated

Homeschool Day At The Capitol 2018

Our village had the awesome opportunity to be the special guest of State Rep Janet Buckner and sit on the floor of the House of Representatives. She gave us the warmest, most loving introduction and acknowledgment. This spoke volumes and is appreciated.

We learned about the law making process, met Rhonda Fields for Colorado, spent time asking questions and exchanging thoughts with State Representative James Coleman, HD7. A special thanks to James Rashad Coleman for arranging an amazing tour of the State Capitol and museum. We walked all the way to the top of the gold dome and stood outside on the balcony overlooking Denver. It was chilly and beautiful! We had an amazing Day!

We are so proud of Kulan Village Mom, Dr. Rhonda Coleman, who was acknowledged today by Senator Rhonda Fields for her hard work in building The Healing Garden. We were honored to support our co-op Mom and Sister on her very special day! Additionally our Scholars were able to see our law makers work on the Senate floor! We are thankful Dr Rhonda and her family are a part of our village and appreciate the work she continues to do through The Healing Garden to support our community.
