BEFORE & DURING...
We are moving to the shop this weekend so we can "work from home". However, our door will be locked and we ask that everyone call 607-467-2424 ahead for drop off and pick up instructions. All payments can be made over the phone. As things change daily, we don't know what will happen with our parts suppliers but we will do what we can to keep everyone going.
Lets all work together (but apart) to get through this! Be Safe!!

There's still time to get your comments in!
Couple quick notes for tonight:
1. Public comment is still open for the NYS Forest Land that would be utilized for the Lumberjack Trails Adventure Area. If you haven't already commented, please do - this will make a huge difference when advocating for this project in Albany. See info below.
2. Important Meeting tomorrow with community leaders to coordinate efforts to make this project a reality.
3. We really need support from all of you to keep pushing this forward. Here is how you can help:
- Make public comments to the DEC
- Contact your NYS legislator and let them know you want this to happen
- Share this page and continue to spread the word!
DEC will open an extended comment period on the draft UMP that lasts until Nov. 1, 2019. DEC will review all collected comments and provide written responses in the final UMP. To submit written comments, send an email with the subject line "Treaty Line Unit" to [email protected], by U.S. Mail, or phone to: Jason Schoellig, Senior Forester, NYS DEC, 2715 State Route 80, Sherburne, NY 13460, (607) 674-4017 ext. 607; or Nathan Funk, Senior Forester, NYS DEC, 65561 State Route 10, Stamford, NY 12167, (607) 652-3694.
This is why people don't want you on their property! Have respect! Tear up your own yard, not someone elses! It takes one idiot to ruin it for everyone. DON'T BE THE IDIOT!!!
I try to stay positive and help everyone have a good time at Tar Hollow but this sh*t makes me sick!! This crap was in the lower parking area on BORROWED PROPERTY that someone was nice enough to LOAN us to help us!! The owner had trail cameras set up hat I will be checking and if I find out who did it, you will NEVER be allowed back. Thanks asshole for ruining it for everyone

‼️TONIGHT‼️ 7/31 at 6:30pm Come join us in supporting the LUMBERJACK TRAILS ADVENTURE AREA ⛰
95 west Main Street Sidney NY Junior/Senior High school auditorium.
Two days until the public hearing - during the next couple of days, it would be great if each of us could reach out "old school" and call someone who you know would like to see this park become a reality, but may not be on Facebook. We could use their voices and presence at the public hearing on Wednesday! There are still people that don't know about this project and the public hearing - so make a few phone calls and let's get those folks out to join us at the hearing!
Imagine.....!! This footage is a flyover of the Lumberjack Trails Adventure Area...or at least where it will be when we are successful! The video (it's not perfect, but hey..) shows in the first part the Cannonsville Reservoir - this is where the recreational boating program is already in place - canoeing, kayaking, sailboarding, fishing, etc. This is one beautiful piece of water that almost never gets used...it could be. The second small lake is the Oquaga Creek State Park camping and swimming area...also a beautiful piece of property that is underutilized today (and has been for decades). The last little segment is just one of the many hilltops of the state forest lands.
Hopefully, this can help excite the vision even more for this project. Let's kid those kids outside enjoying and appreciating the great outdoors!
Keep spreading the word and let's get a great turnout next Wednesday night at 6:30pm in Sidney, NY!
You know the drill...like, share and follow!
dec.ny.gov DEC will host a public comment hearing to provide information, answer questions, and accept public input on the draft Treaty Line Unit Management Plan (UMP).
Everyone get there if you can and help make this happen!!
A quick report - spoke to the AMA in Washington, DC, they will be coming up to speak at the public hearing on July 31st in Sidney. They said turn out is really key for an event like this, so we really have to deliver some in person support up here!
If you live within 2 hours of Sidney, plan to make the trip and have dinner afterwards. Plenty of places to grab a slice and a beer/soda and talk about what a great place to take our families!
Keep up the great work sharing the page and keep spreading the word about the project in person too - we have to make sure people know about it and get the support showing!
Great week with lots of activity on here! We are almost up to 1,000 follows/likes! Let's get there!
Don't forget the rate the page!

Here is a quick refresher for some of the specifics on the Lumberjack Trails Adventure Area project. A few people have asked, so I pulled some of the information out of the "about" section of the page and put it here to make it easier for newcomers to see.
Here is is:
The concept of The Lumberjack Trails Adventure Area is to designate a very small section of the New York State Forest system as a place where residents of New York State and visitors from all over the east coast can legally ride ATV’s and dirt bikes. 20,000 acres, less than .5% of the New York State park system, would be allocated for this park.
The location of this park would be centered in Oquaga Creek State Park, located in the middle of State Forest land just to the east of Deposit, NY. In addition to all of the actives already allowed in the state forest land, this would be the first and only state land to allow ATV and Dirt Bike riding for many many years. This adventure area would also incorporate the water based activities already allowed on the Cannonsville Reservoir through the recreational boating program.
The rationale for this park is sevenfold:
The use of drugs in our upstate communities and inner cities has reached epidemic proportions. Families all over the United States, regardless of race, income level or location, are struggling with this issue. It primarily affects one of our community's most valuable resources: our young adults. This park will provide an alternative to the lifestyles and activities that can lead to drug and alcohol abuse. There isn’t a single family that wouldn’t trade every nickel they have to bring back their kids from the devastating effects of drug addiction.
Communities are made stronger by having strong families where the parents & guardians have significant interaction with their children. Recreational riding not only promotes social interaction between children, young adults and adults, in many ways it requires it. There are very few young people who can pursue riding without the financial, transportation and supervisory support of a parent or interested adult. This park and the activities it promotes, will provide a venue to have families spend time together far beyond what they normally would.
Increasing tourism by attracting people from the eastern third of the United States will provide an economic stimulus to New York State and the communities that surround this park in several ways. We will sell more food, lodging, fuel, bikes, ATV’s, campers, trailers and trucks than we would if we did not attract tens of thousands of people each year to the park.
Retaining the young people in our communities has been identified as a significant issue for our economic development. Besides providing jobs, if we don’t provide fun activities for our young people to pursue they will leave for communities that do. Throughout the southern United States there are innumerable activities for our young people to pursue, some exactly as the park proposed here (Croom Motorcycle area – State of Florida for example). If we don’t start to think about serving this population with activities to enhance their quality of life in New York, they will continue to leave our state.
Retaining our blue-collar work force is also a significant issue in all our communities in New York State. This park will provide an activity alternative that is very popular, especially with our blue-collar workforce. The working families of New York State have built this state into what it is today and enhancing the quality of life for our working families will help strengthen all our communities.
We will increase the use of and economic stimulus effect of the current state forests that would make up this park. Currently, there is very limited use of these state forest lands and this park would substantially increase that use and the economic impact this land will have on the state and surrounding communities. We can use this economic stimulus to further efforts to conserve our state forest system as well as provide funds to lower the tax burden on working families in this state.
Private Investment will be encouraged by providing opportunities to serve the visitors to this park. You can envision moto-cross parks, bmx bike parks and mountain biking trails being developed on adjacent private land to serve the same people who would come to the park. You can envision an increase in camping facilities to accommodate riders and other related commercial enterprises to serve the visitors to the park as well.
