Burnout is real. A lot of us are feeling it. 🔥
Burnout is what brought me to healing on a whole new level. Was it easy coming back from burnout? No. I had to do get more support than I ever had before. I had to learn new ways of operating that didn’t sacrifice my body.
🔥And here’s a reality check: it’s not a one-time experience, like checking a box. I still struggle with the old mindset that pushes me to do, do, do more. It’s a process. And in many ways, I feel it’s the work of my life—for myself, and in the work I do as a wellness guide.

Happy Anniversary!

It is hard to believe I started teaching yoga 20 years ago. My first class was at Plymouth Church in October 2000. Plymouth Congregational Church (UCC) Des Moines has been my yoga home over the years and many yogis have rolled out their mat to practice with me around the Greater Des Moines Area.

My heart is filled with gratitude and I want to thank everyone who has supported me along the way, including the very special yogis who are in the picture. These amazing individuals have been with me from the beginning and journeyed with me over the years. They have witnessed my marriage, graduate degree, births of 3 children, and a major career change. THANK YOU for your support and love!

I have learned many things this year. One of them is where we practice yoga...Our yoga sanctuary may look different, but we CAN stay connected and committed to our practice. With open hearts and open minds, our personal practice can take different forms. We are all in this together!

Saturday's "Walk to Save the Animals" was so much fun! You will find me participating in the warm-up, walking around the zoo and I did lead a wonderful group of people through some fun animal yoga poses to wrap up the event! Thank you Blank Park Zoo!
