Grab a drink, grab a stack of commons, and let’s dive into the chaos of the last week.

📉 Knoxville Recap — A Little Soft, A Little Strange
Knoxville was… interesting.
Foot traffic wasn’t anywhere near the first show — not shocking for a smaller town, but you could definitely feel the difference. Last time they were starving for cardboard. This time? More like they just wanted a snack.

And oddly enough, football was the star of the day.
That almost never happens this time of year. Usually baseball still holds the spotlight until the final out of the World Series, but collectors were laser‑focused on pigskin. Lots of people trying to sell, not a lot worth grabbing.
Baseball always dips this time of year, but this felt like a full‑on seasonal mood swing.

⚾ Playoffs: Three Teams Left… and No Superpowers
We’re down to the final three teams, and let’s be honest — the superstar juice just isn’t there.
The big names didn’t show up in October, and the biggest remaining name is Misiorowski.
Judge says the Yankees need to loosen the purse strings… I say the Yankees need their high‑priced talent to actually play in the postseason. Just a thought.

🎤 Trout Joins the Breaking World
Mike Trout decided he’s not done making headlines — he’s launching Generation One Collect, his own breaking company.
Makes you wonder if Fanatics is sliding into athletes’ DMs with these opportunities.
We’ve got Brady in football, Flagg in basketball, and now Trout in baseball.
Feels like a trend.

📦 SGC & Fanatics Updates
My SGC submission from late July is still sitting in limbo.
But I did request a new Fanatics shipment today — some fresh PC pieces coming in.
I’m also expecting some raw vintage tomorrow, hopefully just in time for…

🏟️ The Regional — This Sunday!
The Regional Show is back this Sunday at the Mid American Rec Plex in West Des Moines (west of the interstate).
Last month’s show — the first in the new location — was a game changer.
The promoter is pushing hard to make this the premier event in Iowa, and it showed:

Table count nearly doubled

Foot traffic was strong

Energy was way up

If it repeats that performance, we’re in for a great day.

💥 Marketplace Went Absolutely Nuts
My Marketplace has been on fire the lately.
I had some baseball Exhibits sitting on my table for two years.
Listed them online… sold in 15 minutes.
Then multiple buyers hit my other baseball listings like a feeding frenzy.
Now I need to restock before long.

⚾ With Three Teams Left… Who You Got?
No Yankees.
No Dodgers.
No Cubs.
No Phillies.
No Astros.
No Braves.

So tell me — with the “big brands” gone, who are you rooting for now?

I didnt share a couple of things I picked up for the table the last two shows. I had a second Jimi Hendrix memorabilia card but that sold within 30 minutes if getting it. These will all be with me tomorrow!

Hey sports card freaks — it’s been a minute, but I’m back and fired up!
I’ve got updates, shoutouts, buying info, and a big show announcement… so let’s dive in.

📍 Knoxville This Saturday!
We’ll be set up this Saturday in Knoxville at the Knoxville Card Show, Dyer Hudson Hall, 9–5.
Last time we were there, it was packed — shoulder‑to‑shoulder, everyone digging, trading, hunting.
This time? Bigger venue. More space. More tables. More fun.
If you were there before, you know it was already solid… now it’s leveling up.

🔥 Iowa State Fairgrounds Recap — Best Month EVER
Last weekend’s monthly flea market at the Iowa State Fairgrounds was absolute fire.
Hands down our best month ever.

People were digging through my boxes like they were mining for gold — refractors, HOF game‑used, sweet inserts, rookies… I watched some beauties walk away and wince a little, but hey, that’s the hobby. Cards are meant to find new homes.

Even the non‑sport packs were getting scooped up. Love seeing that.

💻 Marketplace Is Heating Up
Since getting home, online sales have been rolling — 25% of my show sales matched this week on Marketplace alone.

My player packs have been HOT.
I literally had moments where someone was asking about a pack while someone else was buying it.
That’s the kind of chaos I live for.

📢 I’m Buying BASE CARDS — Yes, BASE!
If you’ve got stacks of base cards from Hall of Famers, I’m buying them.

Here’s the deal:

Tier 1 (Ripken, Bonds, McGwire, Griffey, etc.) — $0.15 each

Tier 2 (other HOFers) — $0.10 each

Exception: No Alomar

All three major sports are welcome.
Junk wax? Absolutely expected.

Full transparency: I build 50‑card player lots that sell for $8–$15, depending on the player.
They don’t have to be all one guy — I sort everything myself. It’s a ton of work, but I genuinely enjoy it, especially when someone messages me wanting eight different players at once.

I’ll travel anywhere in the DSM metro for lots of 400+ cards.
If you’re unsure which tier a player falls into, just reach out.

Don't forget that this weekend is the Iowa State Fairgrounds Flea Market where I will be set up in the Varied Industries Building! Its always a challenge to come up with new inventory, but i always find new stuff! I have a whole tub of fresh inventory including a nice Harmon Killebrew rookie! Come check us out! Well have at least 5 tables set up so there will be plenty! Bring your family and let the search for their own treasures with the other vendors if they prefer something else!

Things had been a little slow on Marketplace and Ebay the last couple of weeks, so I started a small sale on Ebay, cut a couple of prices on Marketplace and listed a few items on each...and this happened in the span of 24 hours! And that big box is indeed full of sportscards. Over 2000 cards shipped in all. Plus a delivery scheduled for tonight! Be sure to check out what remains!

A couple of new PC items rolled in thos morning! The first is this Hank Aaron auto was the last of my 2026 goals. I had looked at The National and considered an auto ball. Seems like his auto cards have really popped. So, when i fould this one at a reasonable price and it went well with the Mays auto I pulled years ago, I thought it was time to pull the trigger.
I would like to add at least one N28 each year. I havent added a ball player yet, and I need to before they get too out of hand...but i found this reasonably priced decent grade and thought it would work this year. This particular person was a marksman who toured with Buffalo Bill for awhile before they split up. So, when you hear about Buffalo Bills Wild West show...its cause if this guy..because his was just know as the Wild West Show.
