Tomorrow we kick off the season with the Youth hunt. We will be tracking free of charge as usual.

Remember with the heat, I know a lot of hunters are gonna be worried about the meat going bad if they do end up putting a poor shot on the deer or are struggling with the trail.  That clock doesn’t start ticking until the deer fully expires so give the deer the recommended wait time depending on the shot before tracking or calling in a dog.

It’s pretty simple. If your dog is showing signs of resource guarding at a young age, use whatever they find valuable as a training tool. You’re in control of what they have access to and what they’re allowed to do. Be consistent and put the time into training them. The answer is not to yell and hit the dog, they’re sensitive stubborn dogs you will ruin them by doing that.

If you don’t have the time to work with your bloodhound, then you shouldn’t own one.

Been seeing way too many people rehoming bloodhounds that could be great dogs for the right people. Do your research they’re not the Beverly Hillbillies relaxed porch dog that some might think.. my neighbors would agree 😉😂

Five years of lovin’ Boone, and this one means a little more.

As most know, last fall Boone gave us the scare of our lives when his stomach flipped and he underwent emergency surgery for GDV. At the time, we truly didn’t know if we’d get the chance to celebrate his 5th birthday, so getting to celebrate five years with our boy means a whole lot.

Boone is such a damn good dog, he actually tricked us into thinking we could get that lucky twice. (Anddd if you know Crock… ’nuff said. 😂)

Happy Birthday to the hound who started it all for us. Here’s to hoping we’ve made his first five years as good as he’s made ours, although that seems pretty impossible.

(Of course, his big homie Rip had to pull up for the celebration too. 🥳)
