🚨APPRECIATION POST🚨
"I want to commend you and your team on an excellent ex*****on of Ice and Lights and recognize one team member. This afternoon, my wife and I joined some out-of-town friends to enjoy the ice despite the 70-degree-plus temperature. The temperature was causing several issues for the operating staff, and this was compounded by the large number of young, first-time skaters on the ice. Management did a great job working through the problems and taking time to remove water from the ice and make sure everyone had the best time possible.
If ever I have seen a team member go beyond the call of duty, it was an impressive young skate guard named Elijah. While on the ice, he made extensive efforts to help new skaters get confident, move away from the walls, and progress. With ice skating only available locally one time during the year, getting these first-time skaters encouraged is so important. His actions certainly were encouraging! Every time I turned around, he was helping someone either through a discussion about a skill or simply with his genuine words of encouragement. Even when enforcing the rules, he did that with an expertise that ensured the message was heard. I am confident that anyone who interacted with Elijah would mirror this positive sentiment.
Thank you for your efforts and those of your team members to bring this experience to Dothan and for mentoring team members like Elijah to be outstanding ambassadors of the City."
