Dover YMCA

Our very own Susan Johnson competed for the National Veterans Golden Age Games in the Veterans 55 plus category last week. This year it was held in Tampa Florida and she participated in five events: Pickleball Mixed and Women’s Doubles, Air Rifle, Boccia Ball, Bowling and the 25m and 50m swimming events.

She received:
🥇Gold in her women's doubles tournament
🥉Bronze in her bowling
🎖5th place in the 25m swim
🎖6th place in the 50m swim

Some of these events were a first time for Susan. She worked diligently to prepare for them and what great finish! 🙌🏻

As an avid supporter of the Dover YMCA, we wanted to recognize all of her hard work in preparation of these games and what she's achieved. We're so proud of you Susan, congratulations! 🎉🎉🎉👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Registration is now LIVE for our inaugural Ninja Contest at the Dover YMCA!

Contestants will have the Chance to race through an action packed specially made obstacle course with this timed competition.
Themed, safe costumes encouraged.

Spectators are invited to cheer on their ninjas!

Top three fastest times in each age category, and top fundraising family, will be crowned our 2026 YMCA Ninja Champions!

Ages 3-5 | 5:30-6:00pm

Ages 9-12 | 7:00-8:00pm

Registration for our 2026 Cardboard Boat Regatta is now live!

Families are challenged to build a boat at home using only cardboard and duct tape, and then bring them on race day to paddle the length of the Dover Y Outdoor Center Pool! This one-of-a-kind event is all about family fun, creativity, teamwork—and the ultimate challenge: will your boat float or sink?

At our outdoor center, our campers are taking charge by building and designing their very own slingshot activity station! 🎯

This dynamic space is all about combining artistic expression with exciting target sports, allowing it to grow and change with our campers' creativity.

Our swim team made a splash at their first meet of the summer, bringing home an incredible 46 ribbons! 🎉 From personal bests to strong finishes, our swimmers showed determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship every step of the way.

We are so proud of the hard work these athletes have put in both in and out of the pool, and this is only the beginning. Congratulations, swimmers and coaches, on an amazing start to the season!
