Curin Oberman’s 2026 season was the kind of year that defines excellence and earns the title of KZONE Softball Player of the Year. 🌟🥎 Oberman dominated the game from every angle. In the circle, she was simply overpowering, finishing with a 14-6 record, 261 strikeouts, a 1.47 ERA, a 0.92 WHIP, and a microscopic .172 opponent batting average. Her 261 strikeouts led all Small School players evaluated and made her one of the most feared pitchers in the area throughout the season. As impressive as her pitching was, she also delivered at the plate. Oberman hit .384, blasted 7 home runs, drove in 24 RBI, and scored 32 runs, giving East Dubuque a game-changing presence every time she stepped onto the field. When a player ranks among the area’s elite pitchers while also producing middle-of-the-order power numbers, that’s the definition of a Player of the Year season.
