"Exercise not only keeps your body fit, but it also has a remarkable ability to protect your organs from cancer and prevent it from spreading.

A 20-year review found that high-intensity exercise reduces the risk of metastatic cancer by more than 70 percent.

The research was one of the first to examine the relationship between secondary cancer growths (metastases in areas like the lungs and liver) and exercise behaviors.

The scientists found that exercise appears to provide an “exercise-induced metabolic shield.” In other words, training at higher intensities increases the immune system's ability to recognize and eliminate cancer cells. The study also suggests that high-intensity exercise makes it harder for cancer cells to survive and grow.

Even moderate walking can help fight cancer!"

Good morning and Happy New Year, everybody!

In case you haven't noticed, we've ceased all sales on this site, as well as our Etsy site, and we're going back to focusing on lifestyle, training and diet ideas to help you attain your fitness, esthetic and wellness goals.

Instead of 'inventing' new angles and methods, we'll share and try out tried and true methods from the champions...my favorites...some of yours, and a few which got me to the national bodybuilding stage. People like Lee Haney, Lee Priest, Tom Platz, Bakhar Nabieva, Natalia Coelho and, of course, the one and only...Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I'd also like to project some of the 'gym humor' I see online, enhancing our enjoyment an our ability to have fun and laugh at ourselves, as we become...better.

Finally, I'll continue, every month or so, updating everyone on my continued recovery from stage 4 prostate cancer; a disease which affects one in every seven men.

Now's the time to wrap up 2023 and begin thinking about what you can accomplish in 2024...financially, physically, esthetically and even regarding relationships.

Physically, we all need or could use improvement. Be it increasing strength, decreasing weight, placement in competitions, etc. But, how do we take these dreams...visions, and create a living, breathing GOAL from it?

Well, we start by being SMART about the goal. Simply saying, "I want to gain 50 pounds of muscle" is not the best approach. Goals should be:

S....specific, not vague.
M...measurable, by use of numbers, weight, distance, etc
A... attainable, and not ridiculously out of reach.
R....relevant to your vision or dream.
T....time bound, or timely, having an end date.

Some goals need to be adjusted from time to time. But, the basic measurement for successful completion should remain the same.

When you decide on your goals, then build a plan with checkpoints to hold yourself accountable week by week or month by month until you succeed.

My goal? To eliminate all cancer metastasis and get off ADT by February, build back testosterone to 350 by May 1st.


Is food 'medicine'? Absolutely!

A recent meta-analysis suggests that consuming flavonoids can benefit skeletal muscle health, helping combat muscle loss and improve overall physical function. Flavanoids — which are found in foods such as black and green tea, berries (blueberries, strawberries), citrus fruits, onions, apples, grapes, and cocoa — appear to have protective qualities, acting as a shield against age-related muscle decline, thereby preserving muscle mass and strength.

At 63, with stage 4 prostate cancer....I've been jumping on this, as well as, increasing protein, vitamins, herbs and exercise, because, as I told my oncologist..."I need to live! I have s**t to get done!"

Wake up every morning, eat breakfast, set goals and execute!
