The future is bright for East Greenbush Xpress Softball, and we’re excited to introduce the coaches who will be leading our 12U teams this season!

Welcome Kacey Merhige, our first-year 12U coach, and Scott Mocerine, our second-year 12U coach. Together, they bring a passion for player development, a love for the game, and a commitment to helping young athletes grow both on and off the field.

From building strong fundamentals and confidence to creating a positive team culture, these coaches are ready to help players take the next step in their softball journey.

Over the years, these athletes have grown from young players learning the game into leaders, teammates, and role models for the next generation of softball players. Their dedication, sportsmanship, and love for the game have helped make our league the special community it is today.

🥎💙 Meet Our 14U Coaches: Matt DeFrias & Marc Iorio! 💙🥎

The East Greenbush Xpress 14U team is led by two coaches who share a passion for developing athletes both on and off the field.

Coach Matt DeFrias brings 4 years of travel softball coaching experience and believes the game is about much more than wins and losses. His focus is helping players improve their softball skills while learning accountability, teamwork, and life lessons that will stay with them long after their playing days are over.

Coach Marc Iorio brings 9 years of coaching experience and is entering his 4th season with the Xpress program. He believes strong fundamentals, continuous improvement, and a supportive team environment are the foundation of a successful travel team.

Together, Matt and Marc are committed to creating a positive, competitive atmosphere where players can grow as athletes, teammates, and young women. Their dedication to player development and love for the game make them a tremendous leadership team for our 14U program.

As we continue to grow the EG Xpress family, we’re excited to introduce the coach who will be leading our brand-new 16U team this season!

Emma brings 15 years of softball experience and a passion for helping players compete with confidence, hustle, and heart. Her philosophy is simple: work hard, have fun, and leave everything on the field every time you play.

One of Emma’s favorite softball memories is throwing a perfect game during her first varsity season, and now she’s ready to help the next generation of players create memories of their own.
