This first home visit after months of prenatal bodywork is so special to me.

Although things have changed, and life can feel overwhelming with sleep deprivation, sore ni***es, flooded hormones, postpartum hangry-ness & body aches… I appreciate families letting me into their home and helping anyway I can.

Here - babe is almost 2 weeks old, and I’m working on some fascial unwinding post birth to ease neck muscles, soften and open the jaw for breastfeeding, assisting in sensory integration, relaxation and teaching the babies caregivers how to do these sweet moves at home.

At 1:20am I’ll be 28 years old!! 🎉🎉

I’m also going on 6 months into my private bodywork practice. This year has been a lot of things but I have so much to be grateful for. My creative side & passion has been 🔥🔥🔥 lately & it’s all because of the people around me.

✨Breast massage for health & lactation✨

Feeling very grateful to help a new mom with clearing a clogged duct tonight. Not only did we get the breast inflammation down, but we were able to soften the tissues and help milk to flow a bit better by relieving the congestion.

It’s important to take care of these amazing organs.

You can start massage before there becomes an issue to reduce the likelihood of clogged ducts & mastitis. It can be a vital part of postpartum care.

Another mini intro to my heart work ✨🙏🏻

I’m a Licensed Massage Therapist and work with many people on structural bodywork to relieve aches, pains & ground the body.
I work closely the perinatal//postpartum period & offer breast massage for breast health & lactation as well as scar work & lymphatic facilitation.

I also get many people coming to me years later post birth dealing with chronic pain, as well as caregivers who handle a lot of baby duties day in and day out.

My work is structure specific to help the muscular system & nervous system to connect, soften & let go of anything that doesn’t serve you. Especially with the increased stress and isolation from the pandemic, many people’s nervous system need some help with decompression.

I offer in-home massage for families as well that find it hard to get out of the house right now (mom, dad, partners & wee ones)) included.

Otherwise I have my massage studio in downtown Edmonds.

Life is by no means easy right now. Everything about this pandemic is challenging to listen to, believe, and endure.

I hear you. I see you. I feel you.

Our nervous systems have been haywire since April, and I want to stop and say how resilient everyone has been through difficulties. We’re adapting to something we never imagined would happen.

We can get ahold of this by being safe & following state recommendations as best as we can. I know it’s weird to reign in on the holidays, but my household is refraining from social gatherings through Fall and Winter.

I’m doing every precaution possible to keep my clients safe during sessions & to stay open to provide quality care. My massage practice will continue to remain open and is not affected by the new Fall/Winter restrictions in WA as we fall under healthcare services. My practice will continue like usual with strict covid-19 protocols as listed on my website.

Support breast/chest lymph flow, circulation & breast/chest health with a well fitted bra. These tips will also supports lactation & prevention of clogged ducts.

Key things to take away:

✨have the right fit for you - choose comfort over style
✨steer away from underwires
✨if you are getting deep lines/marks or irritation on your skin after taking your bra off at the end of the day - that may not be a good fit
✨reduce the time you wear a bra in a day
✨camisoles may support better lymph flow
✨learn self breast massage - especially after taking your bra off at the end of the day

You know that yummy neck traction you get in a massage?
...Well here’s a do-it-yourself neck traction video at home.

Be sure to hook the base of the skull and gently tug upwards towards the the crown of the head. Try to keep your sacrum glued to the floor to protect your low back while lowering your legs.

I’ve been trying to lay flat on the floor and do some neck releases once a day since I know that’s where I hold my stress.

A question I’m often asked is, “do you take insurance?”

Although I do NOT bill insurance, I can provide an invoice, called a super-bill, that you can try to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. The one extra step is to simply call your insurance company first to figure out their reimbursement & policy surrounding super billing.

My clients have had success with this. For example, recently a client found out that their health insurance reimburses with a super-bill (invoice) for 12 massage sessions a year with ANY massage provider they choose.

Pretty amazing.

As a practitioner, and certified in breast massage in the state of WA, I offer breast massage to all clients. It’s a part of my intake forms where you can either consent or decline.
My favorite response is, “no I’m not interested in that today but can you tell me more about it?”
YEAH! Knowledge & curiosity is really powerful.

Breasts are amazing organs that receive little attention until there’s a problem. Why not include them in our regular massage treatments if it can help?

I figured an introduction and/or life update is in order.

My name is Georgia. I’m a mama of one loving, silly, smart, wild toddler that makes my life extraordinary.
I fell in love with my partner when I was young and he encouraged so much growth, happiness and creativity within me - which has led me here - with a beautiful baby, a move to the PNW, and a brand new business.

It was incredibly challenging being a new mom, navigating being a good partner, and being a present student & entrepreneur. Here I am more than a year later after motherhood and still navigating & growing.
I didn’t have the courage to quit my job, change my career path & follow through with working for myself until after learning I was pregnant, and knowing I would want my son to do the same with his life to make it full and meaningful to him (whatever that may be).

So here I am, a Licensed Massage Therapist, who has training for all bodies, all beings & I love what I do.
My inspiration is fueled by education about our bodies and how to support our health. The lymphatic system, endocrine system, nervous system, breast health, post-op scar work, prenatal bodywork, postpartum support, mental health and more.

I’m embracing and celebrating that I can even offer this to my community.

Giving a sense of space, gentle mobility & care in the pelvis. "What is a Postpartum Doula?
A postpartum doula provides evidenced-based information on things such as infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from birth, parent-baby bonding, infant soothing, and basic newborn care. Research shows that parents and babies have an easier time with this transition if a good support team is in place.

What type of services does a Postpartum Doula provide?

The postpartum doula offers many services to their clients, but their main goals are to help “mother the new parent” and nurture the entire family as they transition into life with a newborn. This would include doing things to help parents feel more confident in their roles, sharing education on family adjustment, and tending to the unique needs of a new parent.

Some of the duties include:

- Lactation support
- Help with the emotional and physical recovery after birth
- Light housekeeping so that parents do not feel so overwhelmed
- Running errands
- Assistance with newborn care such as diapering, bathing, feeding and comforting
- Light meal preparation
- Baby soothing techniques
- Sibling care
- Referrals to local resources such as parenting classes, pediatricians, lactation support and support groups"
