GW Lady Blue Devils Earn Walk-Off Win Over Spencer
GW Lady Blue Devils took Wednesday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 14-13 walk-off victory over Spencer at TBD. The game was tied at 13 in the bottom of the eleventh when an error scored one run.
GW Lady Blue Devils collected 27 hits and Spencer had eight in the high-scoring affair.
Spencer got on the board in the first inning after S grounded out, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the second inning, GW Lady Blue Devils went back into the lead after Spencer committed an error, Addison E doubled to center field, and Spencer committed an error, each scoring one run.
Spencer jumped into the lead in the top of the third when S doubled, scoring two runs, and C drew a walk, scoring one run.
GW Lady Blue Devils tied the game in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a single by Jaidyn J, a triple by Addison E, and a fielder's choice by Josie B.
Spencer captured the lead, 10-6, in the top of the sixth when an error scored two runs, S doubled, scoring one run, and M doubled, scoring one run.
GW Lady Blue Devils tied the game in the bottom of the seventh thanks to a ground out by Jaela B, and a single by Jaidyn J.
A single by M gave Spencer the lead, 12-10, in the top of the eleventh.
GW Lady Blue Devils jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the eleventh inning after Alivia T tripled down the left field line, Emma G hit a sacrifice fly, Josie B singled to left field, and Spencer committed an error, each scoring one run.
Alivia T earned the win for GW Lady Blue Devils. The hurler allowed three hits and three runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out six and walking two. S took the loss for Spencer. The pitcher went 10 and two-thirds innings, surrendering 14 runs (nine earned) on 27 hits, striking out 12 and walking three. Jaidyn J opened the game for GW Lady Blue Devils. The starter surrendered five hits and nine runs (four earned) over five innings, striking out nine and walking five.
GW Lady Blue Devils accumulated 27 hits in the game. Alivia T drove the middle of the lineup, leading GW Lady Blue Devils with three runs batted in. The infielder went 4-for-7 on the day. Jaidyn J went 5-for-6 at the plate to lead GW Lady Blue Devils in hits. Kynsley B, Averie N, Addison E, Josie B, and Kyndell S each collected multiple hits for GW Lady Blue Devils. GW Lady Blue Devils turned two double plays in the game.
Spencer piled up eight hits in the game. S provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Spencer with four runs batted in. The number three hitter went 3-for-4 on the day. M and P each collected multiple hits for Spencer. Spencer had patience at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. S and C led the team with two free passes each. Spencer turned two double plays in the game.
