Who thought something with the name such as Death Valley could be so beautiful. This is Telescope Peak, the highest point in DV. Dont let its legacy fool you, it was below freezing up here which I was not prepared for especially leaving my gloves in the Jeep. I thought my fingers were going to fall off. @ Telescope Peak trail

Woke up in bishop Sunday morning and decided I wanted to hike half dome... So I drove to Yosemite and conquered it. The cables were down, no permit needed and the weather was amazing.

Sitting here going through some pictures I took I noticed that the information on this marker is now incorrect. In 1930 it was correct. It wasn't until 1959 that Alaska became part of Union. With that Alaskas terrain pushed the then highest peak in the USA to the 11th highest. Alaska has 10 peaks higher than Mount Whitney. Also since 1930 new measuring devices put Mount Whitney at 14,505'.

It's easy to look back at the things we have accomplished in life. The hard part is setting out on our next hiking adventure, rather it be as epic as the last or not.
