Good Evening,

Unfortunatley, I have to share some bad news that we have to cancel the tournament scheduled at Elizabeth City State University, April 25th 2026. We were informed at the last minute that due to the Chancellors Installation, and short staffed police force we were not going to be able to hold our event on Campus. I made every attempt to move the event, contacting the folks running the Ocean Lakes event, but unfortunately all we were offered was to just have our competitiors cancel the registration and sign up for thiers.

I am sorry, and truly disappointed on several fronts. Everyone will recieve a full refund, give it a few days. If you do consider yourself a supporter of wrestling I do ask that you send an email to the ECSU Chancellor stating your disappointment.

The Tournament at ECSU on April 25th is on! Help grow College and HBCU wrestling by jumping into compete this coming Saturday at the Historic Willams Hall Gym in Elizabeth City, NC. The Open Divisions have some good match ups already. Attached is what we could use to fill out some brackets and help reach our fundraising goal to pay for our NCWA conference dues for the 26-27 season.

4 Brackets from 150-190 are full, but we’ll take more!!

If you fit any of the brackets, please register and come get in some mat time for a good cause. If we cant get you 2-3 matches we will refund your registration fee.

Help ECSU have a successful tournament, we are looking for a few more wrestlers Saturday April 25th. We are condensing the format to one session, where we hope to get wrestlers in 3 matches in 4 person pools. Below is a breakdown of who has registered and where we can use some additional wrestlers.

K-4 Division

40lbs – 0/4, 48lbs 2/4, 56lbs 1/4, 64lbs 2/4, 70lbs 1/4, 78lbs 2/4

Grades 5-8 Division

85lbs 1/4, 95lbs 0/4, 105lbs 0/4, 115lbs 0/4, 125lbs 0/4

Men’s HS-Open

135lbs – 2/4, 145lbs 1/4, 155lbs 1/4, 165lbs 2/4, 175lbs 4/4 (full, but will take more), 190lbs 4/4 (full, but will take more), 210lbs 2/4, 240lbs 1/4, HWT 1/4

Women’s HS and Open

105lbs 0/4, 120lbs 2/4, 135lbs 0/4, 155lbs 2/4, 170lbs 1/4

Divisions are shaping up from some great high level wrestling. No matter what age, come wrestle and support a great cause of growing collegiate and HBCU Men’s and Women’s Wrestling.

Recruiting has also started for 2026/2027 inaugural season. High Schoolers, Transfers, or anyone wanting to come back to college and compete should fill out the recruiting form and check out the flyer. (Any age is eligible, as long as you haven’t wrestled over 4 years in college prior).
