Game 3 vs. Surf Eastside B
Saturday 5:45pm
Pumas win 3 to 1!! Though it really should have been a shutout as the other team only scored off a handball (ball deflected off goalie into opponents forearms) that wasn't called and also appeared blocked 2nd time around. 🤷♀️ This mattered for final bracket positioning, especially since our 2nd game was a tie. We ended up two points under the team we tied, putting us in 3rd place rather than 2nd. However, the boys played well and had fun. 💪 ⚽️

We are excited to get tryouts done and start the new season as the KVJSA 2015 Boys Under 11 (U11) Team, which moves us up to 9v9 rather than 7v7.

Game 2 WA Cup
Saturday's game vs. Seattle Celtics at 1:45pm.
We were short a coach first half due to bad traffic on hwy 18 from an accident and thought we'd possibly be short players too. Thankfully, all the boys made it in time and rallied for our amazing solo coach, who also shows up for the boys' rain or shine, migraine, or no. ❤️ We had to get creative for warm-ups since we were missing our equipment, including our bench, cones, balls, etc. But the boys came out ready to play.
Got on the board first 1-0, though the Celtics answered back with 2 including one that may have been an offsides goal according to teams not affiliated with us 😉
Went into the second half down 2 to 1. But the boys battled back and were in the lead 3 to 2 in the final minutes of the game. They took several great shots to try and increase the lead but couldn't find net due to solid defense/goalie protection by Celtics. A high kick from an opponent down the field by their goalie landed past mid field and bounced to an opponent who timed it just right for a cross kick that floated into the goal tying it up 3 to 3.
The boys hustled so hard trying to regain the lead, taking at least 3 more shots in the final minutes, but ran out of time. At least 6 shots in 1st half and at least 8 in the second.
