Hello Eagle parents,

I am sending you this email because the Cross Country booster parents are currently in a bind. They are a brand new team of parents, and they do not have enough workers signed up to run their Firework Stand at Grocery Outlet next week.

They want to split the proceeds with the Track booster club if any of you are able and willing to go work the stand.

They specifically only need us to run the stand Weekdays from 11am-4pm.

This fundraiser earns thousands of dollars, so it would really help the track and field team out if you are able to donate a little bit of your time next week.

You can also take your athletes with you to help work the stand - they just cannot touch the money.

Hello parents/guardians!

First, I would like to thank you for signing up for the Track and Field Youth Camp at Elma! We hope to deliver a fun early-summer experience to the kids while also introducing them to the wonderful sport of Track and Field!

This email is meant to give you general information about the camp, as well as what we will be doing each day.

Before I get to the scheduling of things, I want to emphasize that we are expected to have extremely hot weather conditions on Monday and Tuesday. Please make sure you have put sunscreen on your kids and have water for them. We will also provide extra water bottles at the track.

Time
The camp runs Monday, June 22nd - Friday, June 26th.
Camp time is 10:00am - 12:00 noon. (please arrive before this time for sign-in and sign-out)
Camp staff will be there at 9:30am for sign-ins.

Location
The Track at Elma High School/Middle School.

Sign In/Sign Out
For safety of the kids, we will be implementing a daily sign in/sign out system.
The reason for this is because some kids may be getting dropped off at the camp by a parent, but then be picked up by a different parent, or an older sibling, etc. This will give us a record of who drops off and picks up the kids every day.
If you plan on having your child sign out with somebody different than who signs them in, please indicate who will be picking your child up on the sign in form.

Can I stick around for the camp as a parent/guardian?
Absolutely! There is a set of bleachers, as well as a large empty parking lot that oversees the track where you can hang out and watch your kids.
We do, however, ask that you stay outside of the track and field area (including discus pit) during the duration of the camp for the comfort and safety of all other kids.

Name Tags
Name tag stickers will be supplied daily for the kids. This is to help us know who they are and help keep our Camp Staff accountable for all the kids.

T-shirts
Camp T-shirts will be supplied on either the last day or the day before depending on when manufacturing gets completed. You can pick up the shirt at the sign-in table. Kids are encouraged to wear the T-shirt on the last day as their "uniform" for our last day events!

Camp Staff
Elma High School Track and Field Athletes

First Day
The first day will be mostly an introduction day to help kids get the feel for the camp.
They will be divided into teams based (approximately) on their grade level, with one of the Camp Staff to serve as their "Head Coach" for the remainder of the camp.
Kids will be taught proper stretching/warmup routines for track, and be introduced to a variety of Track and Field events.
We will conclude the first day with a race on the field.

Rest of the Week
After meeting up with their "Head Coach" and doing stretches/warmups, we will be doing a variety of activities and games related to Track and Field events.
We will conclude each day with a team race or game.

Last Day
For the last day we plan on having a full on Track Meet!
Kids will get to compete in all of the events we have practiced over the course of the camp.

Quick Note:
I have been contacted by many people that they were unable to come in during the day to make a payment to sign up for the camp because they could not leave work. Because of this, and because we failed to get an online payment system up and running, I am going to allow people to sign up at the last minute on the first day of camp this year.
If you know anybody who wanted to attend the camp but could not make their payment because of work, please let them know.

Attached below is the sign up sheet. Please have them bring this form filled out and a payment of $50 (cash or check) to Coach Lazelle on Monday morning at the track. The form without payment will not be accepted. Payment without the form will not be accepted. I will have some spare forms on Monday for people who do not own a printer.

Track Camp Deadline Extended!! Sign your kids up and join the fun!!

The Elma Youth Track & Field Day Camp seeks to introduce young athletes to one of the longest-running sporting traditions with a combination of learning fundamental techniques with safety and a major focus on fun! The registration fee is $50 and includes a t-shirt. The camp will be held June 22 - June 26 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The signup and payment deadline of Wednesday, June 18 is fast approaching.

What an incredible way to wrap up an unforgettable season! 💙🦅

Last night we celebrated our athletes, families, coaches, volunteers, and supporters who helped make this season so special. Looking around the room, it was easy to see that Elma Track & Field is about so much more than competition—it’s about hard work, commitment, friendships, and community.

A huge thank you to our coaching staff. Thank you for the early mornings, long bus rides, late nights, endless encouragement, and the countless hours you pour into our athletes. Your impact goes far beyond marks, medals, and personal records. You help build confidence, character, and life lessons that will stay with these athletes long after their track careers are over.

Thank you to our Booster Club members and volunteers. From organizing fundraisers, coordinating events, providing snacks, helping at meets, supporting senior recognition, planning the banquet, and handling all the little details behind the scenes, this program simply wouldn’t be what it is without you. Your time, energy, and dedication help create opportunities and memories for every athlete in our program.

And to our Class of 2026 seniors—thank you for your leadership, dedication, and the example you set for those who will follow. You have left your mark on this program, and while we’ll miss you, we can’t wait to see what comes next for each of you. Once an Eagle, always an Eagle. 🦅
