🦈 October is JAM PACKED at Sharks Basketball Academy.

Whether a player is preparing for their first travel season, looking for a competitive winter team, getting ready for high school tryouts, or planning ahead for the spring, we have opportunities coming up for players from 3rd grade through high school.

Since 2001, Sharks Basketball Academy staff has focused on providing players and families with more than just games. Our goal is to create an organized, competitive environment where players can develop their game, learn how to compete, build confidence, become better teammates, and prepare for the next level of basketball.

🏀 BOYS WINTER TRYOUTS | Grades 3–8
📅 Friday, October 2 & Sunday, October 4
• 18–22 games
• Two practices per week

🏀 GIRLS WINTER TRYOUTS | Grades 5–8
📅 Sunday, October 25 & Thursday, October 29
A new opportunity for girls looking for competitive basketball, player development, teamwork and a positive basketball community.

🏀 HIGH SCHOOL BOYS SPRING 2027 EVALUATIONS | 15U–17U
📅 Sunday, October 25 & Thursday, October 29
Current 9th–11th graders can get an early start on our Spring 2027 teams before beginning their high school seasons. Registration is FREE.

🏀 21ST ANNUAL HIGH SCHOOL TRYOUT PREP | Grades 7–9
📅 October 19–22 & October 26–28
Seven nights featuring area high school coaches talking directly with players about what coaches look for, how to prepare for tryouts, expectations at the high school level, and what it takes to make the transition to high school basketball.

📍 All programs listed above are held at the Melrose Park Civic Center.

The next teams are taking shape and we’re looking for players ready to compete, develop, and take the next step. These winter tryouts give players the opportunity to earn a spot on our travel rosters while competing alongside athletes who share the same commitment and drive to the game. We wanted to take a moment to put the spotlight on our coaches this week as we prepare for the upcoming fall season. Our coaches work rigorously every day to improve players skills and strengthen their love for the game of basketball.
