MisFit Toys Throwdown

Today is the LAST DAY to register and get a shirt for the event! (Final day to register with no-shirt is Friday, December 3).

Remember, we will be donating toys to Giving Back Food Pantry in Southington, CT and will also support a member at Yankee Fitness Co. with a monetary donation.

Megan Stegner has been a devoted member at Yankee over the last few years. Earlier this year Meg was diagnosed with breast cancer. It has been the fight of her life and we happy to be able to support her and her family during this time.❤️

The Misfit Toys Throwdown started in 2010 as a friendly competition between two gyms. Roughly 10 teams got together to workout and donate toys to kids in need. As the competition grew so did our donations…

Thanks to the continued support of our athletes over the last 11 years, we have been able to not only donate hundreds of toys each year but have also been fortunate enough to raise large monetary donations for various charities and organizations.

This year we will be donating toys to Giving Back Food Pantry in Southington, CT and will also support a member at Yankee Fitness Co. with a monetary donation.

400 M Run Together
60 Wallballs (1 partner works at a time)
40 Deadlifts (1 partner works at a time)
20 Synchro Lateral Burpees Over the Bar

10 Minutes to Find Max Clean & Jerk

Score 1: Rounds + Reps
Score 2: Combined Clean & Jerk Weight

The Deets:

RX: 20/14 & 225/155
Scaled: 14/10 & 155/105
Masters: 20/14 & 185/125

Minimum work requirement for wallballs/deadlifts: 1 rep - you choose to divide work any way.

You get one barbell to share with partner and you can begin loading weight for clean & jerk at minute 20:00.

Save the Date for the 2021 MisFit Toys Throwdown: Saturday, December 4th!

As always, we will be collecting new toys for underprivileged children,l and making a donation to a TBA charitable cause!

This year would mark the 10th Anniversary of the MisFit Toys event and we were so excited to celebrate that with you all! Unfortunately, given the current circumstances, we don’t feel it would be possible to safely host the event and we have made the decision not to hold the competition this year.

We’re so grateful for the community that comes together for this event each year. We’re hopeful that we’ll be back next year to collect toys, to raise money, to have fun and to throw down. Until then, stay safe and healthy and hopefully we will see you all next year!

Thank you so much to everyone who participated, judged, volunteered, sponsored and donated to the 9th Annual ! We’re excited to announce that along with collecting hundreds of awesome toys for children this holiday season, we are making MULTIPLE monetary donations this year!

We are proud to support Operation Warrior Horse, which provides healing equine therapy to military Veterans. We’re also excited to announce that we are able to wrap all of the donated toys and provide refreshments for the families receiving toys from the Giving Back Food Pantry. In addition, we’re so happy that we are able to provide funds for transportation so that students from the Dwight Bellizzi School in Hartford, can attend a Holiday Celebration where they will receive gifts and get to meet Santa!

Although this is a fitness competition, it is also a charity event. We’re happy to support local charities or families in need and donate to these worthy causes. We’d love to consider donating to causes that mean a lot to those that support our event!
