The recruiting process is full of exciting possibilities. To unlock your full potential and receive scholarship offers by the end of your junior year of high school, it's essential to start building relationships at least a year or two earlier, opening doors to a world of opportunities.

A number of close call losses along with the one win were part of an interesting day at this past Saturday's Roc City Classic hosted by Roberts Wesleyan. The team fell to Daemen by 15 pins in game 1 and by just 2 pins to William Smith in game 2, before losing to the host team game 4, and then getting a win verses D'Youville game 5. Everyone did a good job hanging in there and making efforts and adjustments to battle the lowest scoring lane condition of the year. Chelsea Wayne led the way and also just missed the all tournament team by one spot with her 856 total and 171 average for the event. And Dee Dee Elijah came back after a slow start to average 192 for the final 3 games. It's a week off for spring break before hittting the practice lanes next week to get ready for the AMCC Championship March 20-22 in Pittsburgh.

On the lanes and on the town.

What an eventfull weekend at the Niagara University Brunswick Spring Tournament over the weekend. After a slow start on the very oily lane conditions, the team bounced back to average 179 for the next 8 games. A best ever stretch which included a 914 loss to Mercyhurst, only 2 individual games under 160 out of 15, and 7 Baker games over 190, including a 225 and a season high 247. That led to 3 wins and a ninth place finish overall. We saw the positive effect of very sanded, stronger equipment, different angles, and ball speeds to help battle the longer and ever changing lane patterns. And our first loss to upcoming AMCC Championship opponent Hilbert was a reminder to keep working and try to finish even stronger at the end of the season. With those good scores for many teams though comes a result of the non starters not getting much playing time, as those in the lineup are bowling well and you are trying to make your way up the leaderboard. And when that happens it is nice to see those players, including ours and other teams, still getting their practice in, rooting on and being excited about their teammates success, learning from watching the others who are bowling really well, and getting inspired to keep improving and helping their chances to score more when they get their chance. Add to that a trip to the Hard Rock Cafe and Niagara Falls, and that was indeed a full weekend.
The team will practice the next two weeks in preparation for the Rock City Classic March 7 hosted by Roberts Wesleyan.
