The holidays can be stressful at times. Take a moment, find a quiet space, and sit or lie down comfortably and take a few deep breaths. You can have your eyes closed if you wish. Breathe in slowly through your nose, and slowly exhale through your nose. Visualize the air filling all the depths of your lungs as you inhale, and feel all those deep spots emptying as you exhale.

May your holidays be filled with fun, friends and family, and a few moments to yourself to relax.

My mind’s all discombobulated—I thought it was the 13th today, but no. The number 13 was in my mind because I just returned on Monday from the 4th, and last, in-person seminar for The Vertical Workshop’s Bridge program. It has been great, a total of 13 of us learning from Shari Berkovitz. What a great group of teachers, it has been so fun getting to know them all and learn together! (And eat cake together!)

It's National Backward Day!

National backward day encourages us to do things oppositely. It's a time to take a look at our actions to see how reversing them can be effective and fun. Spend the day finding new ways to do things in reverse.

This exercise is called backwards arms. It is great for opening up the chest and back, and stretching the shoulders. Something we all need since we spend a lot of time in the opposite position, hunched over a computer or other device. Being a former desk jockey myself, this movement didn’t start out easy for me, but now it feels good.
