Training a horse for mounted archery takes time and desensitization. Mostly it takes training them to ride without the reins! Also training YOU to ride without reins. Everyone thinks they ride off the seat until you take their reins away and they're dead in the water. The process of getting Mr. Campari ready for mounted archery was so easy! He was already such a good boy. The challenge with Cam is his balance 🫠 If the horse you're on is flopping arounf out of balance its so hard to shoot. For Cami we do alot of work over poles and on circles to help him build his strength and coordination so he can kick butt 💪

Perry is a fantastic little guy! He trail rides, jumps cross rails to 18 inches, does mounted archery, western pleasure and dressage. Perry is quite a traveled gentleman and has been to Canada, the beach and next week he is traveling to California to compete in a national ranking.
Perry is a great mount for a rider who wants to step up and try some new things, or get out to some shows and trails.
Perry is available for lease starting in May. Lessons are included in the lease price.

Come and participate and show off your beautiful pony and your fantastic skills! Fantasy and open costume class judged by Eugene Slug Queen Sitara T. Slugshine! Start working on your costume now! Try out some of our entey level mounted archery classes like equitation and suitability and watch masters from all over the world compete in the first ever Yabusame competition outside of Japan! Enjoy fun booths, performances and activities at the fair surrounding the competition! We will see you there on July 25-26th at the beautiful Silver Tail Farms in Creswell, OR!
