Big congrats to Joseph s michelson for winning the THE FCFF 145 belt last night! Joes game has developed tremendously over the last couple of years, and it’s really starting to show . After a back and forth first couple of rounds, Joe began to combine his boxing , wrestling , and ground -n-pound to take control of the fight in Rd 3. In Rd 4, he was able to get to his opponents back and finish with the always reliable rear choke . Thank you to all our coaches besides myself who have helped shape Joe as a fighter : Amiri Rivers , Rob McNamee , Vanessa Sexton , Morgan Fegan . And ofc his sparring partners /teammates! Appreciate ATT Portland for letting us warmup at their place on fight morning too.

won his fight by unanimous decision (originally announced as a split decision but corrected later to unanimous) last night at . It was a very fast paced, grueling fight with both fighters landing heavy shots and takedowns . David showed a lot of heart pushing through some tough moments to get the win. The hard work and humility he always shows in the training room paid off. He’s only trained with us for a year but has already racked up a couple of wins, and the future is bright for him. Very proud to be one of his coaches❤️. Thanks , , , and for your help coaching him up as well!

Our competition team started the year out with 3 straight weekends of Jiu Jitsu competition! Last night I was able to submit a fellow black belt with an RNC after a very physical fast paced 5 min of grappling. At age 53, it’s a privilege to still be able to compete well. Last weekend three of the newest members of our mma team decided to test themselves at the most competitive Jiu Jitsu tournament in our area , ADCC. was able to win silver , and and .p competed very well in deep divisions, winning some and losing some but learning a lot. The weekend before that , one of my white belts Noah won gold at a tournament winning his matches by scarf hold submission . Really proud of all my students and ready to get back on the mats to keep improving 😀👊

It was a wild night of fights last night. .a.krider came out w extremely crisp boxing and hurt /dropped his opponent on a few occasions. However , his opponent showed a lot of grit and was able to impose his Jiu Jitsu advantage and secured a stoppage win from back/Mount position in rd 2. Isaiah wasn’t hurt but was unable to meaningfully improve his position. In his debut , showed excellent striking timing and aggression by dropping his opponent and following up w a tko stoppage win from top mount position in 20 sec of rd 1. lost by decision to another promising young w a wrestling background. Both guys landed shots on the feet , with Cadet landing the heavier shots. Carder found a home for his right hand in rd 3 but it was too little too late as his opponent did a great job of using fence pressure and takedowns to secure the win. All in all , great learning experiences for all my guys . For what it’s worth , even though we went 1-2, we were 3/3 on giving our opponents concussions and suffered no significant damage ourselves 😂. Proud of you boys for always fighting hard. Thanks , , and for helping w coaching and warmups!

.dh_ and had their first Kickboxing fights last night, and both got to experience three full rounds of action! .dh_ won his fight with good straight punch combos and brutal leg kicks, cruising to a unanimous decision win. came out aggressive and almost knocked his opponent out in the first round. His opponent weathered that storm and came out strong to win the second round. The third round was close with Adrian landing the harder shots but his opponent landing more volume. The judges gave his opponent a split decision win, but both fighters learned a lot and got to show their heart. Really proud of these guys😀. Thanks also to for helping coach them and to and for the opportunity to compete👊.

and .blackburn put on a great show last night, and two of my pros were competing . followed our boxing-heavy gameplan and knocked his opponent out w punches in 16 seconds. It was especially satisfying since J Bob had lost to that same opponent in a close decision 4 years ago. came out of a five year layoff and lost a decision to a tough opponent who combined boxing and wrestling very well. Looking forward to the next one for him as he will undoubtedly be sharper now that he got the cage rust off. Both of these guys are good men, good fathers, and a pleasure to coach . So all in all I’m blessed to be a part of their journey ❤️

Last night .perezz.00 had his first Kiclboxing bout. After getting dropped early w an overhand right, he composed himself and used technical boxing combos , blending in kicks and clinchwork , and winning the second and third rounds. Result was a majority draw, but a great learning experience for both fighters and now we know Miguel has heart! won a unanimous decision using his pressure Boxing game but also blended in numerous body kicks and body knees as the fight progressed . I’m really proud of both of these guys ❤️. Thanks for for coming to help too. When I’m coaching I’m immersed in the moment , not thinking about anything else. And that is a real blessing right now .
