I often tell my bestie, "We're not getting any dumber!" It's silly, but SO TRUE. Sometimes smart is the new strong and wisdom is the new beauty. Or have they always been?
It's the same thing when it comes to running. As a coach, I love helping women learn to listen to the wisdom inside of themselves. So many things you've learned in the other parts of your life can guide you in your running life.
Setting running goals can be as illusive as the goals themselves. If you were to set a new goal for yourself right here, right now, what would it be? Maybe this post will help you think out of the box, reach deep, and come up with one true to YOU.
What I Know Now About Running is the Key to Having it All
Friends know that life is just so thick and full right now that just showing up for a training run and making it to the starting line is something to throw a party about right there. So what do you do when you are thrown a curve ball, when you get older, when a PR runs away from you faster than a to

It's been an intense summer. Life has been full, hard, beautiful and raw. To make sense of it, keep growing, fight hard, parent with our hearts, explore creativity, and never stop learning is exhausting. I'm so blessed that running remains true even while it changes. It morphs from fun to necessary, to life saving, and back again. Regardless, I'm thankful it is still with me. The McKenzie River Trail Run 50K came and went. The training was mostly solo, the race was a nice day in the woods, like a long prayer of gratefulness. And afterwards, radical self-care. For me that looks like hiding from social activities, Facebook, or even friends sometimes. It's tea and sitting in a dark room just being OK with me. It's sand between my toes or the cold rush of a swift river surrounding my body. I'm ready for fall. I'm ready for new. I'm ready to gather the good and give more of it away. I would love to know (and see!) what you've been up to this summer. xoxo ~Laura

What does trail running and Star Trek have in common? Find out in today's One Tip Wednesday.
One Tip Wednesday: How to boldly go where you've never gone before
Did you know there's a creative person out there making Star Trek running gear? You're probably thinking, "Oh no! Tech gear with too-short sleeves and high-water pants in that gawdy gold colored who-shot-the-couch fabric!" What seems like a silly combo turned out pretty cool. Because the designers d

How to Trust Your Training or at Least Quit Crying in the Dishwater
Ten days before I was set to toe the line of the Lithia Loop Trail Marathon in Ashland, Oregon, I found myself crying over a sink full of dirty dishes. As I watched warm, salty tears carve miniature craters in the suds, confusion washed over me. The reason and suddenness for my sadness was a mystery

Runners run! Even if they traveled to Seoul, South Korea with their family. Today’s route took me up to Namsan tower that looks over the city. It’s a gorgeous inner-city park with immaculate trails, streams, and.... pheasants! Tell me about an adventure run you took far from home.
