Greetings and Happy New Year to everyone. My rod building slacked off the last part of 2017 due to carpal tunnel issues. I had surgery in Dec and now looking to get back to rod building soon.

A couple new rods completed and delivered. The 1st 2 picts ar of a 8 ft 2 piece 4/5 wt. with green silk wraps and blue silk tipping. The 3rd is a 8 ft 3 piece 4 wt blue silk wraps and black tipping. The spacer on the last rod I turned myself.

New Paul Young Midge 6'3" 5 wt. 1.7 oz rod completed and shipped.

The new dedicated finish room is fully in operation. Photos show a PHY Midge rod coming out of the tank and the 3 sticks in the drying cabinet. Looking good!! One more dip to go for final finish

After a whole lot longer than I thought it would take I finally carved out a corner of the shop and built a dedicated room for my dip finishing process along with a heated drying cabinet. Looking forward to trying it out.

I use the best silk wrapping thread available and just about any color is available. I also tip the wrap with a contrasting color. Each wrap is coated 3 times for color preservation then the entire rod is given 3 coats of spar urethane.

I build new rods using the best cane from one of the best suppliers in the US. Each culm is selected, split, planed, wrapped and finished by hand by me personally.
