SUPER EXCITED to announce changes to the 2026 DGCC Ryder Cup. The field has been expanded from 12 players per team to 18. I for one think this was a great call by Jeff Travis and the tournament group. We had some of the best participation for tournaments in 2026 that I can remember in quite some time and the participants are being rewarded. It is truly hard to make the top 12 with as many players as we had, one bad round or one wrong flighting and you are out. We will have a full course of players come Ryder Cup date, this should create even more pressure, excitement, and drama for all that made it, and it should add even more interest in trying to make it next year knowing you have a chance if you just participate. CAN’T WAIT to see how this year RC ends, has a lot of potential to be a nail biter!

Senior Club Championshop has been settled, Bob Rice and Don Hinely battled in 100 plus degree weather which was punishing for both of them on Friday. Not only did Bob have to battle the elements and a worthy competitor in Don, but he also had to overcome Don’s cheerleader Steve Smith and Roy Rice. In the end, he was able take a 1 shot lead on 17 and maintain it through 18 to win 1 up. Just want to give Mr Hinely a big shout out, you kind of expect Bob to be in the finals, but I am pretty sure no one had Mr. Hinely on their Bingo card for the finals. I for one am very impressed and congratulations to both for making the final 2, but as we all know there can only be one winner and the 2026 DGCC Senior Club Champion is Bob Rice!

They say good golf travels well, the junior side of the DGCC bracket proves that. One of our newest members Steven Rogers from across the River is a “Stick”. He shot 59 in a tournament round and when he is on, birdies come in bunches. His final round was against Greg Henry. Greg was this scribes pick to win it, not because he was the best golfer, but he swings it to well to only be up for his low point total. His biggest issue is how often he plays, he has a great move, but golf will bite you when you don’t keep the rust knocked off. Greg was leading going into last two holes, and Steven goes birdie on 17, and follows it up with a birdie on 18 to win by 1 point. First these are not the two easiest holes to birdie at DGCC, that is impressive, but what is more impressive is to do it when he had to, the moment makes the birdie, birdie finish even more impressive. Winning is always sweeter when your earn it and not have it given to you! So congratulations to both Greg and Steven for making it to the finals, but there can be only one winner and our 2026 DGCC Junior Club Champions is Steven Rogers!

Well the finals are set, first for Senior Club Championship you have Don Hinely (31 points / 77) vs Bob Rice (37 points / 71). For the Juniors you have Greg Henry (23 points / 85) vs Steven Rogers (37 points / 71). Congratulations to our 4 finalist, show casing all skill levels have a chance to be club champion!

2026 DGCC Club Championship update:

Soon to have the great 8, congratulations to Bob Rice, Markus Keith, Don Hinely, Greg Henry, Joe Wilkey, & Steven Rodgers who have all punched their tickets for the Great 8. Waiting on matches for Jordan vs Hudson and York vs Rose.
