🏁 P2 ON THE NIGHT! WE’LL TAKE IT! 🏁
Made some changes to the car before tonight, and they were definitely a step in the right direction! Still had a few things we wanted to tinker with, but time wasn’t on our side after the heat race.
🔥 HEAT RACE: Rolled off P3 and drove it up to P2, putting us starting on the inside of row 3 for the feature!
🏁 FEATURE TIME: Well… the driver decided to step on his own tallywacker and loop it around in turns 1 & 2. 🤦♂️🤣
Unfortunately, a few other cars got caught up in the mess. Definitely wasn’t the intention, and we hate that anyone else had to deal with it. The caution came out, but since we kept rolling, we were able to regain our spot.
That’s the thing about racing. Nobody straps in planning to make a mistake, but we’re all human, and sometimes things happen faster than you can fix them. Heck, just last week at USRA Nationals, we spent damn near the entire week getting caught up in other people’s messes, tearing equipment up, and dealing with things completely out of our control. Was it frustrating? Absolutely. Did it cost us? You bet. But we loaded up, fixed what was broken, and moved on. Nobody’s perfect behind the wheel, and racing doesn’t come with a guarantee that everything will go your way. Sometimes you’re the one caught up in it, and sometimes you’re the one who makes the mistake. Either way, you pick your head up, move forward, and go racing. 🤷♂️🏁
After all the excitement, we put our heads down, got back to work, and brought it home P2! 🏆
Not a perfect night, but a damn good result! The car is getting better, we’re learning, and there’s still more speed to find.
We’ll take the runner-up finish, load it up in one piece, and get ready to do it all over again! 🏁🔥
ON TO THE NEXT ONE! 🤘
