Friend of Shriners Sponsor Shoutout: The Dude Network Podcast and DudeWipes

This is a fun one! The Dude Network Podcast appeared at the WVU Football tailgate against Coastal Carolina. We met with the guys and they graciously donated DudeWipes for all our participants to wipe off after a tough run!

Today is the tee shirt registration deadline for the Shriners 5k presented by WVU Medicine and City of Pleasant Valley!

Thank you to those who have signed up in the last 24 hours. We would love to see the numbers grow even more before the deadline, so please if you are considering attending at all, go ahead and sign up. If you cannot make it, we will switch you to virtual and send you your swag in the mail.

🏃‍♂️ Race Director Spotlight: Dustin Blankenship

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on Dustin Blankenship, Race Director for the Shriners 5K happening October 3rd, 2026! 🎉

Dustin’s connection to the Shriners goes far beyond putting on a race. As a Shriner since 2011, he has witnessed firsthand the incredible impact Shriners Children’s has on children and their families—including families right here in our Fairmont community. ❤️

After taking up running a few years ago to get healthier, Dustin found a second community in running and is now combining his love of the sport with a cause that means so much to him.

“This organization has my heart, and I care deeply about the kids we serve.”

We are only a few days away from the guaranteed shirt deadline for the October 3rd Shriners 5k and we want to level with you:

Registrations started out strong, but steadily slowed to a stop. Our numbers are WAY down and for us to put on this event, we need runners and walkers. Virtual support is appreciated, and especially those who can attend in-person.

Osiris Shriners work hard to support our communities and we appreciate those who are showing up and showing their support. That being said, we desperately need to see a participant increase in order to put on this event this year.

As the race director, I’m asking that you please support our event by registering for the virtual or in-person run/walk this weekend. We want to put on a superior event but cannot do so without participants.

Registration remains open for the Osiris Shriners 5k Presented by WVU Medicine and the City of Pleasant Valley!

All participants who register prior to September 15th are guaranteed to receive a teeshirt and finisher medal. Those who register after September 15th, we will order extra shirts but cannot guarantee sizes or quantities in stock for late registrations so please consider registering today!

We will have additional swag and giveaways for those who attend in person on October 3rd including stickers, Osiris Shriners cups, snacks, door prizes and more!
