There is still time to make your miles matter!

In 2021, Agnes Tirop set a women-only 10K road world record.

One month later, she was killed in an act of gender-based violence.

Her close friend and training partner, professional runner Viola Cheptoo, helped turn grief into action through Tirop’s Angels.

Funds raised through the Global Virtual 5K will support the development of a secure safe house where women and children escaping abuse can receive shelter, counseling, essential services, and a dignified path forward.

The foundation was created in honor of Agnes Tirop, whose life was tragically taken by gender‑based violence. Her story sparked a movement, transforming grief into action and action into hope.

Tirop’s Angels works to break harmful cultural norms rooted in patriarchal systems, uplift women’s leadership, and create communities where women and girls can live free from fear. Their goal is urgent and essential: a world where every individual has the chance to thrive.
