We rounded out Septembers after school classes with a fun game combining reading and boxing ! We had our students faceoff in a little friendly relay race competition. Students had to go through our obstacle course grab a flash card with a random word on it that was a part of a sentence. From there they had to regroup in the boxing ring with their team leaders and place the words in correct order to create the sentence. Our kids had a blast and the yellow team won! Their prize was they don’t have to do stairs next class 😂 all in all the kids had a great time with this fun learning / physical activity. Thank you to our partners at Education Comes First for making it possible for us to do these types of things with our youth, creating a safe space where they can learn, be with friends and learn the discipline of boxing and the benefits from it and being educated.

After another busy weekend of pro boxing events , setting up rings , fighting for state titles just another weekend for coach and the Bernardo’s boxing crew. We were right back in the gym Monday night and had the pleasure of having down for sparring. We got a great mix of high level amateurs and pros In their mixing it up and always makes me feel good when I get told this might be the best work we’ve gotten. Happy to help and looking forward to more work in camps for the future. Proud of my killers as always putting in the reps necessary. Sparring was followed by a great adult boxing class where we worked on sparring drills got in some killer mitt sessions and ended it with a grueling bag drill and core workout.
