It is the final day of , and we not only want to honor the strength and courage it takes to pump, but also the the strength and courage it takes to stop. Sweet NICU mama, here is your gentle reminder that it’s okay to stop pumping. 💕

Sometimes pumping feels like the one thing you can do for your little one. Not only does it provide nutrients for them, but it also can provide routine for you. A schedule to follow and something to check off a never ending list when life seems to throw curve ball after curveball and your abilities as a mother feel particularly limited.

But sometimes there comes a time when this routine becomes near impossible to maintain, and/or your mental health begins to suffer. And it’s in these moments when it’s important to remember that it takes courage to begin the conversation about when it’s time to be done pumping. And it takes an extra dose of courage to stop! But within you lies this courage and you will know when the time is right for you. 💕

No matter the length of your pumping and breastfeeding journey, know that you did well. It may not have been the journey you always envisioned, but we hope you feel great pride. Not only for how you gave of your body, but also for the ways in which you honored your heart in the process. 💕

Whether you’re done pumping or currently find yourself making that decision, know that this sisterhood supports you. It’s not easy to throw in the towel, mama, but sometimes it’s one of the bravest things you can do. 💕

Listen, my Instagram post isn't going to give you too much detailed info about breastfeeding.

Not because I don't want you to have that info, but because there is a lot of nuance around this topic.

I want you to learn about it in an effective and impactful way. Take classes! Educate yourself. Talk to local IBCLCs or CLCs. Make choices that make sense for you and your family.

And in the meantime remember:

✨️Breastfeeding is normal.

✨️Breastfeeding is one option for feeding your baby. (Doesn't mean it's the only one!)

✨️Breastfeeding (including pumping) isn't always easy- and that's okay. Help is closer than you think!

✨️Don't "should" on yourself! Raising babies is hard enough, leave the shame out of it.

✨️It's an art, not a science- what works for one person might not work for you and that's okay. You're not broken.

✨️Breastfeeding and pumping are labors of love- but it is labor. I see you.

✨️This is a season of life you might love or might not. Either way you're not alone.

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Josh Boschee has proclaimed August 2026 as National Breastfeeding Month, with World Breastfeeding Week recognized August 1-7, in The City of Fargo.

Supporting families is a priority for Fargo, including access to environments that promote healthy lifestyles and informed infant feeding choices. Breastfeeding is a proven public health strategy that supports lifelong health and development for both infants and mothers — lowering rates of childhood obesity, diabetes and infections, and reducing maternal risk of certain cancers, type 2 diabetes and hypertension.

Families are more likely to reach their breastfeeding goals when supported by healthcare providers, employers and community systems that embrace lactation-friendly environments. A breastfeeding-friendly community welcomes families of all races and structures and works to remove barriers through education, policy and cultural support.

We love research and partnership and a great team approach to supporting a family as they grow!!

Health care in the United States is increasingly team-based, and doulas—who often provide emotional, physical, and educational support for patients during birth, the postpartum period, and beyond—are valuable members of many care teams.

ACOG’s new clinical guidance encourages ob-gyn collaboration with doulas and gives ob-gyns the tools they need to better understand a doula’s role. It also highlights the importance of stronger partnerships between clinicians and doulas, which can provide vital support across the lifespan—including during and after pregnancy—and can lead to better patient outcomes.

This has absolutely nothing to do with birth, being a doula, or postpartum. But had everything to do with a simple joy of feeding my pittie a piece of watermelon. I CANNOT with the cuteness!!
